Job Overview:
The position of Chargé(e) de la Gestion de l’Information within the Cluster Sécurité Alimentaire at WFP involves critical responsibilities in supporting the humanitarian programming cycle. The incumbent will be stationed in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, and will work under the supervision of the director" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Country Director and the security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Food Security Cluster Coordinator. This role is pivotal in collecting, analyzing, and disseminating data related to food security and livelihoods in Burkina Faso. The successful candidate will contribute to the Humanitarian Needs and Response Plan (HNRP) and will be responsible for ensuring that data-driven insights inform the planning and execution of food security interventions. The position requires a strong analytical mindset, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders to enhance the effectiveness of humanitarian responses.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Chargé(e) de la Gestion de l’Information include:
  • Supporting the Humanitarian Programming Cycle (HPC) processes by contributing to the preparation of the Humanitarian Needs and Response Plan (HNRP) alongside the Food Security Cluster Coordinator and partners. This includes calculating the number of people in need (PiN) and assessing severity levels.
  • Providing contributions to intersectoral analysis based on the Joint Intersectoral Analysis Framework (JIAF), including severity analysis and defining intersectoral PiN.
  • Assisting in the development of the Food Security Cluster response plans, including sector strategies, logical frameworks, target definitions, and financial needs.
  • Monitoring and analyzing the response through 5W matrices, ensuring periodic tracking of the implementation of activities against objectives and indicators outlined in the HNRP.
  • Maintaining an updated database of partner activities, ensuring rigorous data processing, validation, and a harmonized beneficiary counting system.
  • Analyzing data to identify geographic gaps, under-served population groups, and discrepancies in assistance levels.
  • Producing and disseminating various information products, including dashboards, newsletters, and presentations for meetings and donor roundtables.
  • Developing a financing tracking system for the Food Security Cluster to ensure reliable data on funding for activities.
  • Supporting coordination efforts and capacity building by updating directories, managing humanitarian pages, and organizing meetings. 1
  • Collaborating with OCHA and inter-cluster IM focal points to contribute to global cluster initiatives.

Required Qualifications:
The minimum qualifications required for this position include:
  • A university degree (minimum BAC+4) in fields such as Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, Statistics, or Geographic Information Systems (GIS).
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience, particularly in database development and management.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel for data processing, structuring, and validation.
  • Proficiency in GIS tools (ArcGIS, QGIS) and data visualization software (Power BI, Tableau) as applied in humanitarian contexts.
  • Demonstrated ability to synthesize and visually present complex data for partners and donors.
  • Experience in administering collaborative platforms (SharePoint, sectoral web pages).

Educational Background:
Candidates must possess a university degree, specifically at least a BAC+4 level, in relevant fields such as Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, Statistics, or Geographic Information Systems (GIS). This educational background is essential to ensure that the candidate has the necessary analytical and technical skills to perform the duties associated with the position effectively.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience. This experience should include a strong focus on the development and management of databases, as well as familiarity with humanitarian programming and data analysis. Candidates should have a proven track record of working in similar roles, ideally within humanitarian or development contexts, to ensure they can contribute effectively to the Food Security Cluster's objectives.

Languages:
Fluency in French is mandatory, and candidates should also possess an intermediate level of English. Proficiency in both languages is essential for effective communication and collaboration with diverse stakeholders in the humanitarian sector.
