Job Overview: The ICT Associate position at UN Women involves executing ICT services within the Country Office, implementing management systems and strategies, and providing daily technical support to users of information management tools and technology infrastructure. Duties and Responsibilities: The ICT Associate will be responsible for implementing ICT strategies and new technologies in accordance with corporate standards. This includes providing inputs for the development and review of internal ICT policies, drafting annual work plans, and ensuring effective functioning of hardware and software. The incumbent will install, operate, and maintain all hardware equipment, provide advice on acquisitions, and manage communication systems, including mobile and satellite phones. The role also involves monitoring network connections, troubleshooting issues, and maintaining backup and restoration procedures. The ICT Associate will provide web management services, administrative support for ICT procurement, and technical support for key events. Additionally, the incumbent will facilitate knowledge sharing and training for staff on ICT issues, ensuring that the office remains equipped to handle technological challenges effectively.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must have completed secondary education, with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science considered an asset. Certifications in Cisco Meraki and Microsoft Azure Fundamentals are recommended, with the expectation that candidates will obtain the Microsoft Azure Administrator Associate certification within six months if not already certified. The position requires at least six years of working experience in network administration, hardware/software use, and telecommunications facilities. Experience with satellite internet solutions, particularly Starlink, and backup power equipment is advantageous. Familiarity with the UN system or NGOs is also beneficial.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a completion of secondary education as a minimum requirement. A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science is preferred, and relevant certifications in ICT management and administration are highly valued. Candidates should be prepared to pursue additional certifications if they do not possess them at the time of recruitment, particularly those related to Microsoft Azure.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of six years of relevant experience in network administration and the use of hardware and software in a professional setting. Candidates should have a strong background in telecommunications facilities and experience with satellite internet solutions, including Starlink. Previous work experience within the UN system or with NGOs is considered an asset, as it demonstrates familiarity with the operational context and challenges faced in humanitarian settings.
Languages: Fluency in English and Ukrainian is mandatory for this position. Knowledge of another official UN language, such as French, Arabic, Chinese, Russian, or Spanish, is desirable and would enhance a candidate's profile, particularly in a diverse and multicultural work environment.
