Job Overview:
The Information Management and Analytics Associate plays a crucial role in the Information Management Unit by handling data entry, data cleaning, verification, and managing both physical and digital archives. The position also involves generating standard maps and providing administrative support to ensure that data is accurate and readily available for operational and programmatic purposes. The incumbent will work under the guidance of the Information Management and Analytics Senior Analyst, contributing to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the unit's operations. This role is essential for maintaining the integrity of data management processes and supporting the broader objectives of the UNMAS Syria Programme, which focuses on humanitarian mine action and ensuring safe access for humanitarian operations.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Information Management and Analytics Associate will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including but not limited to: supporting operational activities of the Information Management function; assisting in defining, documenting, and implementing IM processes with a focus on data entry; implementing IM Standard Operating Procedures; performing data entry, verification, cleaning, and quality checks of incoming mine action reports; maintaining organized physical and digital archives of operational data, survey files, tasking orders, and field reports; supporting database maintenance, backups, and data imports; assisting in testing and supporting data collection tools; identifying and reporting data inconsistencies; responding to data queries from internal teams; organizing logistical and administrative requirements for meetings; supporting information-sharing with UN entities; assisting in data cleaning and mapping tasks; producing standard static maps and operational snapshots; and contributing to the compilation of data for monthly factsheets and programmatic reports.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess experience providing information management support, particularly with spreadsheets (MS Excel) and structured data entry. Experience in data verification and cleaning is essential. Desired qualifications include experience in mine action or humanitarian information management, data migration, and familiarity with IMSMA, SQL, PostgreSQL, or GIS tools such as QGIS/ArcGIS. Experience working with governmental institutions, UN, or NGOs, as well as preparing training materials or supporting technical training delivery, is also beneficial. Additionally, candidates should have experience maintaining physical or digital records and archiving systems.

Educational Background:
The position requires an Advanced University Degree (Master's Degree or equivalent) in Information Technology, Information Management, Computer Sciences, or a related field. Alternatively, a First level University degree (Bachelor's Degree or equivalent) in the same fields with 2 years of relevant experience is acceptable. A High School Diploma with 5 years of relevant experience is also considered sufficient for this role.

Experience:
The role requires candidates to have relevant experience in providing information management support, with a strong emphasis on data management and verification. Experience with spreadsheets and structured data entry is mandatory. Candidates with experience in mine action or humanitarian information management, as well as those who have worked with data migration and various database management systems, will be preferred. Familiarity with governmental institutions and international organizations is also advantageous.

Languages:
Fluency in English and Arabic is required for this position. Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in both languages to effectively communicate and manage information within the role.
