Job Overview:
The Administration Senior Associate will play a crucial role in ensuring efficient office operations by supporting administration, logistics, and client-focused services. This position requires the individual to facilitate government liaison, manage immigration and official documentation processes, and coordinate day-to-day office activities. The role is vital for maintaining compliance with UNOPS policies and procedures while ensuring that services are delivered accurately and efficiently. The Administration Senior Associate will work under the supervision of the Senior Support Services Officer and will be responsible for coordinating administrative and protocol services, ensuring that all operations align with UNOPS regulations and standards. The position also involves engaging with various stakeholders, including government ministries and local authorities, to facilitate official correspondence and meetings, thereby enhancing the operational effectiveness of UNOPS in Syria.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Administration Senior Associate will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including but not limited to: maintaining relationships with government ministries and local authorities to facilitate official correspondence and coordination of meetings; processing residency permits and handling VAT exemptions; coordinating with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other relevant departments; providing administrative support for key events and ensuring compliance with UNOPS rules and regulations; conducting briefings for staff on immigration and protocol procedures; and participating in knowledge-sharing initiatives to enhance operational efficiency. The role also requires the individual to assist with interpretation and translation during high-level meetings and maintain accurate records of protocol and administrative activities.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess either a secondary school diploma with at least 7 years of relevant experience or a Bachelor's degree in any discipline with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience. Relevant experience is defined as experience in supporting administrative services, liaison/protocol services, and government relations. Proficiency in using collaboration and productivity tools such as MS Office and G-Suite is required. Additionally, a proven track record in dealing with government ministries and immigration processes is highly desirable, as is experience working within UN system organizations or international NGOs in humanitarian or development contexts.

Educational Background:
The educational requirements for this position include a secondary school diploma or equivalent with 7 years of relevant experience, or a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in any discipline with 3 years of relevant experience. This educational background ensures that candidates have the necessary foundational knowledge and skills to perform effectively in the role.

Experience:
The position requires relevant experience in supporting administrative services, liaison/protocol services, and government relations. Candidates should have experience in using collaboration and productivity tools, and a desired background includes proven experience in dealing with government ministries, immigration, and local authorities. Experience working in UN system organizations or international NGOs in humanitarian or development contexts is also preferred, as it provides valuable insights into the operational environment in which UNOPS operates.

Languages:
