The Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe (SHAPE) serves as NATO’s strategic command, responsible for planning, preparing, and executing Alliance operations and activities. Job Overview:
The NATO Staff Officer - Fusion Analyst position is integral to the Cyberspace Operations Centre (CyOC), which is NATO’s only theatre component for cyberspace. The role involves supporting the integration and fusion of data feeds from various cyber tools, contributing to Fusion Analytics, and conducting data analysis to support Defensive Cyberspace Operations. The incumbent will be responsible for creating a comprehensive cyberspace situational awareness picture, which is essential for effective command and control in multi-domain operations. This position requires a proactive approach to analyzing technical vulnerabilities and driving actions to mitigate consequences, ensuring that NATO's cyber capabilities are robust and responsive to emerging threats.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The incumbent's duties include supporting the production and review of fusion products, contributing to the continuously updated threat picture, and managing the integration and fusion of data feeds from various cyber tools such as CDSA, CyCOP, CPAL, MISP, CySAS, and Industry Feeds. The role also involves assisting in the management of the Fusion Analytics process, conducting data analytics to support decision-making in Defensive Cyberspace Operations, and contributing to the development of a common operational picture and cyber operations metrics. Additional responsibilities include preparing and validating situational updates, developing and disseminating periodic Situational Awareness products, and supporting the creation of CyOC Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). The incumbent will also participate in workshops and meetings to provide Situational Awareness support and author staff documents as required.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a minimum of 3 years of experience in supporting Cyber Defence operations and working in a military environment, with operational experience in Operational Centres of higher formations. Knowledge and experience in cyber and cyber defence capabilities related to large international organizations are essential. Additionally, candidates should have at least 3 years of experience in data collection, interpretation, and reporting. A university degree in computer science, engineering, statistics, operations research, intelligence, criminology, or a related field is required, or higher secondary education with advanced vocational training leading to professional qualification and 5 years of related experience. In cases of ambiguity, job-specific experience takes precedence over standard education and training levels.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a university degree in relevant fields such as computer science, engineering disciplines, statistics, operations research, intelligence, criminology, or public administration. Alternatively, candidates with higher secondary education and completed advanced vocational training leading to a professional qualification, along with 5 years of post-related experience, may also be considered. The emphasis is on having a strong foundation in technical and analytical skills relevant to cyber operations.

Experience:
Candidates should have a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in supporting Cyber Defence operations and working within a military environment. This includes operational experience in higher formation Operational Centres, which is crucial for understanding the dynamics of military operations and the integration of cyber capabilities into broader strategic objectives. Experience in data collection, analysis, and reporting is also essential, as the role involves significant data interpretation and the creation of actionable insights.

Languages:
Proficiency in English is mandatory, with a required standard of SPL 3333 (Listening, Speaking, Reading, and Writing). This level of language proficiency is essential for effective communication within NATO and for the preparation of reports and documentation. While English is the primary language, knowledge of additional languages may be considered an asset but is not mandatory for this position.

Additional Notes:
The successful candidate will be appointed as a Project Related NATO International Civilian (PLN) with a three-year definite duration contract under the NATO 2030 Agenda. Upon expiration, the position may be deleted or absorbed into the ceiling pending approval, or exceptionally considered for extension. The salary will be based on the NATO Grade of the post, with potential allowances based on eligibility, subject to approximately 20% withholding for pension and medical insurance contributions.
