Job Overview: The Investment Officer position is situated within the Private Sector Financial Institutions Division (PSFI) of the Private Sector Operations Department (PSOD) at ADB. This role is crucial for the processing of ADB's private sector financing projects, particularly those involving financial institutions. The Investment Officer will be responsible for establishing and maintaining client relationships, conducting due diligence, risk analysis, and structuring financial assistance such as loans and equity investments. The officer will also engage in business development activities, identifying and screening projects for their developmental and commercial viability, and contributing to the development of a robust project pipeline in Fiji and other Pacific nations. Duties and Responsibilities: The Investment Officer will undertake a variety of responsibilities, including leading and participating in project processing, conducting due diligence, and performing risk analysis to structure loans and equity investments. Key duties include:
Leading credit and financial due diligence, developing financial models, and assessing the risk and credit profile of proposed projects.
Analyzing financial statements and projections, performing sensitivity analysis, and making recommendations based on findings.
Participating in due diligence missions and providing technical support to team leaders.
Representing ADB in transactions with external advisors and consultants.
Conducting sector and country research to inform transaction risk assessments.
Collaborating with the Office of Risk Management and Safeguards Specialists to address credit-related issues.
Preparing project documentation and presentation materials for meetings, including Investment Committee and Board meetings.
Leading discussions with potential financial institutions for project development and processing.
Identifying and screening projects for their developmental aspects and commercial viability. 1
