Job Overview:
The Area-Based Coordination Coordinator is a pivotal role within Prosper Global's Collective Sudan initiative, which aims to address the humanitarian needs of vulnerable populations in Sudan. This position is responsible for facilitating coordination among various stakeholders, including local responders, NGOs, UN agencies, and donors, to enhance the effectiveness of humanitarian responses at the sub-national level. The coordinator will engage with Area-Based Coordination (ABC) structures to promote collaboration, information sharing, and resource mobilization. The role requires a strong focus on ensuring that local perspectives and priorities are integrated into national-level humanitarian discussions, thereby enhancing the overall response to crises in Sudan. The coordinator will not directly manage ABC structures but will support their sustainability and effectiveness through strategic engagement and partnership.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Area-Based Coordination Coordinator will oversee Collective Sudan's support to Area-Based Coordination initiatives, ensuring that resources and assistance align with the priorities identified by ABC coordinators and stakeholders. Key responsibilities include leading the development and implementation of workplans, performance monitoring frameworks, and adaptive management processes. The coordinator will facilitate joint planning and response analysis, promote localization, and ensure that local actors are meaningfully involved in coordination processes. Additionally, the coordinator will support ABC coordinators in identifying operational needs and facilitate access to necessary resources. The role also involves promoting knowledge-sharing and cross-learning among stakeholders to improve response quality and effectiveness.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates for the Area-Based Coordination Coordinator position should possess a BA/BS in International Development, Humanitarian Affairs, Public Policy, Social Sciences, Economics, Political Science, or a related field, with a Master's degree preferred. A minimum of 8 years of progressively responsible experience in humanitarian programming, coordination, or related fields is required. Candidates should demonstrate experience managing complex multi-partner programs funded by institutional donors and have a strong understanding of humanitarian coordination systems, localization, and cash assistance. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential, along with strong analytical and strategic planning abilities.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as International Development, Humanitarian Affairs, or Social Sciences. A master's degree is preferred, indicating a higher level of expertise and understanding of the complexities involved in humanitarian work and coordination.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in humanitarian programming, coordination, or related fields. Candidates should have a proven track record of managing multi-partner programs and facilitating coordination among various stakeholders, including NGOs, UN agencies, and local actors. Experience in conflict-affected environments is essential, as is the ability to navigate complex political landscapes and build trust among diverse groups.

Languages:
