Job Overview:
The Programme Assistant will play a crucial role in supporting the Programme Team in the development and implementation of effective programs aligned with UN Women’s rules and regulations. This position involves providing comprehensive administrative, financial, and logistical assistance to ensure smooth program implementation. The Programme Assistant will work under the direct supervision of the Programme Analyst for Women’s Economic Empowerment in Uzbekistan, contributing to the overarching goals of the 'Women’s Economic Empowerment in Uzbekistan' project. This project aims to create an inclusive economic environment for women, enabling them to participate equally in the economy and labor force, free from gender stereotypes and harmful social norms. The Programme Assistant will assist in planning, monitoring, and implementing project activities, ensuring that all administrative and financial processes are adhered to, and that documentation is maintained accurately.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provide administrative and logistical support to the formulation and management of programs, including assisting in the preparation of work plans, budgets, and proposals.
  • Maintain comprehensive project documentation and provide support for audits and follow-up actions.
  • Assist in financial management by creating projects in the Quantum system, preparing budget revisions, and processing payments.
  • Organize logistical arrangements for meetings, workshops, and events, including travel and accommodation.
  • Act as a liaison between the project team and stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and alignment of project activities.
  • Support research and analysis to inform project activities and optimize strategies.
  • Facilitate knowledge building and sharing through organizing training sessions for staff and partners.
  • Provide administrative support to resource mobilization efforts by compiling documentation and information from donors.

Required Qualifications:
Completion of secondary education is required, with a Bachelor’s degree in business or public administration being desirable. Candidates should possess strong administrative skills, including experience in program management and support. Proficiency in using multiple office software packages and ERP systems, preferably Oracle Cloud, is essential. Knowledge of gender equality, women's empowerment, and sustainable development is an asset, along with experience in civil society organizations and the United Nations.

Educational Background:
Candidates must have completed secondary education, with a preference for those holding a Bachelor’s degree in business or public administration. This educational background is essential for understanding the administrative and programmatic aspects of the role.

Experience:
A minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience in administrative or program management/support is required for candidates with secondary education. For those with a Bachelor’s degree, at least 2 years of relevant experience is necessary. Experience in a computer environment using multiple office software packages is required, along with familiarity with ERP systems. Previous experience in civil society organizations and the United Nations is advantageous, as is experience in supporting teams in complex environments.

Languages:
Fluency in English and Uzbek is required for this position. Knowledge of another official UN language, such as French, Arabic, Chinese, Russian, or Spanish, is desirable and would be considered an asset.
