Job Overview:
The Senior Case Management Associate (Pre-departure / VHR) plays a crucial role in the implementation of pre-departure activities in line with IOM procedures. This position is essential for the timely and accurate processing of migrants’ information prior to their departure, facilitating their return and reintegration process. The associate will coordinate the receipt of travel-ready cases from the Protection Assessment and Referral Team (PART), review each case for completeness, and prepare requirements for beneficiaries lacking valid travel documents. The role involves supervising verification processes of travel documents, maintaining an organized tracking system, and facilitating the categorization of travel-ready cases based on various criteria such as nationality and urgency. The associate will also coordinate the preparation of Exit Visa requirements, compile flight manifests, and support beneficiaries with pre-departure orientation sessions, ensuring that vulnerable cases receive appropriate support and explanations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Senior Case Management Associate include coordinating the receipt of travel-ready cases, reviewing cases for completeness, preparing requirements for beneficiaries lacking valid travel documents, supervising verification processes of travel documents, maintaining an organized tracking system for all documents, facilitating filtering and categorization of travel-ready cases, supporting the assignment of cases to various flight options, coordinating the preparation of Exit Visa requirements, compiling flight manifests, coordinating the handover of finalized travel documents, notifying beneficiaries of confirmed departure dates, supervising beneficiary communication, facilitating pre-departure orientation sessions, coordinating with VHR Administration for necessary Non-Food Items, supporting boarding processes, following up with no-shows, recording outcomes in the MiMOSA system, and maintaining documentation and filing of all pre-departure processes.
Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in political or social sciences, Development Studies, Human Rights, International Relations, Law, or a related field from an accredited academic institution, along with four years of relevant professional experience. Alternatively, candidates with a high school diploma and at least six years of relevant working experience will also be considered. Previous working experience with NGOs or international organizations is an advantage, and candidates must demonstrate accuracy in handling and reporting data. Good computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, are essential.
Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as political or social sciences, Development Studies, Human Rights, International Relations, Law, or a related area from an accredited institution. Candidates with a high school diploma and significant relevant experience may also qualify, provided they meet the experience requirements.
Experience:
The position requires candidates to have at least four years of relevant professional experience if they hold a Bachelor’s degree, or a minimum of six years of relevant working experience if they possess a high school diploma. Experience working with NGOs or international organizations is considered an advantage, and candidates should demonstrate accuracy in handling and reporting data.
Languages:
All IOM staff members are required to be fluent in one of the IOM's official languages, which include English, French, and Spanish. Proficiency in these languages will be specifically evaluated during the selection process, which may include written and/or oral assessments.
Additional Notes:
The position is subject to funding confirmation, and any offer made to the candidate is contingent upon this. The selection process may be used to staff similar positions in various duty stations, and recommended candidates will remain eligible for appointment in a similar position for a period of 24 months.
