Job Overview:
As a Cyber Security Engineer based in Mons, Belgium, you will be part of the NATO Cyber Security Centre (NCSC), which is tasked with managing the lifecycle of cyber security for NATO Communications and Information Systems (CIS). This role involves transforming IT services to support NATO's Digital Endeavour. You will be responsible for the full technical lifecycle management of various infrastructure components, including Microsoft SharePoint farms, Web Application Proxy, AD FS federation nodes, and SQL Server Always On availability groups. The position requires advanced administration, preventive maintenance, and operational support for these platforms, necessitating a deep understanding of complex incidents across multiple technical layers, including identity management, web publishing, and security monitoring integrations.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Cyber Security Engineer will take on several key responsibilities, including: acting as a Senior Microsoft Technologies Subject Matter Expert; managing the technical lifecycle of NCSC Web Access Layer infrastructure components; performing advanced day-to-day administration and preventive maintenance; troubleshooting complex incidents across various technical layers; managing Microsoft SharePoint farms, including configuration, maintenance, and performance tuning; overseeing Web Application Proxy and AD FS federation nodes; configuring DMZ-based publishing and reverse proxy/load-balancing components; managing SQL Server Always On availability groups; and ensuring the operational support of NCSC Replicator System components. A comprehensive understanding of the technical environment and the ability to diagnose issues effectively is crucial for success in this role.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree from a nationally recognized or certified university in a related discipline, along with at least 2 years of post-related experience. Alternatively, candidates without a university degree may qualify if they can demonstrate at least 6 years of extensive and progressive expertise relevant to the position. Strong knowledge and experience in managing complex Microsoft SharePoint environments, web development technologies, and Identity and Access Management (IDAM) technologies are essential. Familiarity with scripting languages, cloud environments, and cyber security concepts is also required.

Educational Background:
A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field from a recognized institution is mandatory. Candidates lacking a degree must demonstrate significant experience and expertise in related duties, which may compensate for the absence of formal education. The educational background should ideally include coursework or training in information technology, computer science, or a related discipline.

Experience:
Candidates should have a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in cyber security or IT roles, particularly in managing Microsoft technologies and SharePoint environments. Alternatively, candidates with at least 6 years of progressive experience in related duties may also be considered. Experience in user-focused development, agile project management, and cloud environments is highly valued.

Languages:
Fluency in English, both written and spoken, is mandatory for this position. While English is the primary language of communication, knowledge of additional languages may be considered an asset, enhancing the candidate's profile in a diverse work environment.
