Job Overview: The Programme Assistant (Monitoring & Evaluation) position at WFP is crucial for supporting the implementation of monitoring activities across various program interventions. Duties and Responsibilities: The key responsibilities of the Programme Assistant include supporting routine monitoring activities, coordinating field visits, maintaining records of monitoring activities, and assisting in training enumerators for assessments. The role also involves data collection and management, including preparing questionnaires and beneficiary lists, monitoring data entry and validation, and organizing quantitative and qualitative information. The job holder will assist in preparing routine monitoring updates, dashboards, and reports, as well as contribute to corporate reporting systems. Additionally, the position requires communication and coordination with government counterparts and partners, organizing monitoring-related meetings and trainings, and providing administrative support such as preparing meeting minutes and handling logistical arrangements. The Programme Assistant will also support beneficiary feedback mechanisms and perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Required Qualifications: Candidates for the Programme Assistant position must possess a secondary school education, with a post-secondary certificate in a related functional area, particularly in Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) being desirable. The role requires fluency in both written and spoken English and local languages, with proficiency in Sinhala and Tamil being highly desirable. The ideal candidate should have experience in collecting program output and outcome data, conducting analyses, and reporting findings to management and stakeholders. Familiarity with WFP monitoring and evaluation systems and standards is also essential.
Educational Background: The minimum educational requirement for this position is the completion of secondary school education.
