National Consultant for the Development of Audiovisual Materials

UNEP is an Implementing Agency of the Multilateral Fund of the Montreal Protocol, and its OzonAction’s Compliance Assistance Programme (CAP) provides a range of services and project implementation support to assist countries in controlling the trade of HCFC and HFC-based substances and equipment.

Job Overview:
The National Consultant for the Development of Audiovisual Materials will be tasked with creating various audiovisual products that support the activities of the Ozone Unit related to the HPMP-III and KIP-I initiatives. The consultant will be responsible for producing two videos, each no longer than five minutes, in Full HD format, as well as 17 shorter videos for social media, each no longer than one minute. These materials are intended to enhance the visibility and understanding of the Ozone Unit's work and to support the development of the HPMP and KIP activities. The consultant will work closely with the National Ozone Unit of Chile and the UNEP Latin America Regional Coordinator, ensuring that the audiovisual materials align with the objectives of the Ozone Unit and the broader goals of UNEP. The role requires a high level of creativity and technical skill in video production, as well as the ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The consultant will operate under the overall supervision of Chile's National Ozone Unit and the UNEP Latin America Regional Coordinator. Key responsibilities include: conceptualizing, scripting, storyboarding, filming, and editing the required videos; managing the production schedule; conducting several rounds of review and incorporating feedback; and ensuring the final products meet the quality standards expected by UNEP and the National Ozone Unit. The consultant will also be responsible for organizing the logistics of video production, including coordinating with team members and stakeholders involved in the project. The role demands a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work effectively in a diverse team environment.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, or a related field. A minimum of four years of professional experience in the use of professional digital video recording equipment and management of photography and lighting for audiovisual productions is required. Proficiency in professional editing and post-production software is essential, as is experience with supplementary video recording equipment such as stabilizers and drones. Candidates should demonstrate strong teamwork skills and have experience in graphic design, which is highly desirable. The ability to manage high workloads and meet short production deadlines is also crucial for success in this role.

Educational Background:
A bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, or a related area of study is required for this position. This educational background provides the necessary foundation in media production, storytelling, and communication strategies that are essential for creating effective audiovisual materials.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of four years of professional experience in audiovisual production, specifically in the use of professional digital video recording equipment and managing photography and lighting. Candidates should have a proven track record of producing high-quality video content and be familiar with the demands of working under tight deadlines and high workloads.

Languages:
Fluency in oral and written Spanish is mandatory for this position, as the primary audience for the audiovisual materials will be Spanish-speaking stakeholders. Knowledge of other UN languages is considered desirable, as it may enhance communication with a broader audience and facilitate collaboration with international partners.
