Job Overview:
The Digital Communications and Content Specialist position at FAO in Vietnam is designed to enhance the organization's digital communication efforts and youth engagement strategies. This role is not limited to social media management; it encompasses a broader scope of digital content production and management. The specialist will work closely with the Communications Specialist/Lead to ensure a consistent and effective flow of information from program evidence and field activities into Vietnamese-language public content. The position aims to build the capacity of program teams to independently contribute to content creation, thereby strengthening the overall communications framework of FAO in Vietnam. The specialist will also serve as the Youth Engagement Focal Point, responsible for fostering connections with youth organizations and ensuring that youth voices are represented in FAO's communications.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The incumbent will manage the editorial calendar and publication process for FAO Vietnam's digital platforms, including Facebook and the official website. Responsibilities include supporting major campaigns and events, developing engaging Vietnamese-language content such as social media posts, web stories, and videos, and coordinating field storytelling efforts. The specialist will also maintain an organized digital asset library, create bilingual templates for program teams, and regularly update the website to ensure content accuracy. Monitoring audience engagement metrics and preparing monthly reports will be essential, as will managing community engagement and addressing sensitive issues. The role requires collaboration with various stakeholders, including youth organizations, to enhance youth engagement and document their contributions to FAO's initiatives.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a university degree in Communications, Journalism, International Development, International Relations, Agriculture, or related fields. A minimum of five years of relevant experience in digital communications, content production, and youth engagement is required. Additionally, candidates should have a working knowledge of both English and Vietnamese, and must be either nationals of Vietnam or residents with a valid work permit. FAO core competencies such as results focus, teamwork, communication, and building effective relationships are essential, along with technical skills in organizing events, managing social media, and producing visual content.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a university degree in fields related to communications, journalism, international development, or agriculture. This educational foundation is crucial for understanding the complexities of digital communications and the agricultural sector, enabling the specialist to effectively convey FAO's messages and engage with diverse audiences.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of five years of relevant experience in digital communications, content production, and youth engagement.
