Job Overview:
The IDB Group is seeking an active undergraduate student for a paid internship opportunity under the Consultant modality. This internship is part of the 2027 Winter Internship Program, which is designed to provide university students with insights into development work and corporate management within the Bank. Interns will gain professional experience through on-the-job learning, supporting various divisions in project origination, investment committee preparations, and data analysis related to debt capital markets and sustainable finance. The internship will take place at the IDB headquarters in Washington, D.C., and is intended for students who are eager to learn and contribute to the Bank's mission.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Interns will be responsible for supporting the Division in project origination by preparing marketing materials and institutional presentations. They will assist Investment Officers in preparing investment committee materials, coordinating with various internal units such as credit risk management and legal. Additionally, interns will collect and analyze relevant data on local and international debt capital markets, help automate reports and tracking tools using Excel and Power BI, and assist in data collection and validation for internal programs related to debt capital markets.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must be active undergraduate students enrolled in a relevant program such as Finance, Economics, Statistics, Accounting, or International Development. They should possess strong analytical and quantitative skills, proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Power BI, and a working knowledge of Python is a plus. Soft skills such as being result-driven, collaborative, innovative, and client-oriented are essential. Strong communication skills and the ability to manage time effectively are also required.

Educational Background:
Applicants must be enrolled in an undergraduate (bachelor’s) program at an accredited university, with a graduation date that falls after the internship period. It is required that students have completed their second year of studies by the time of application.

Experience:
This internship is designed for first-time participants in an Internship Program held by the IDB or IDB Invest. Candidates should not have prior experience as staff members, contractors, or service providers for the Bank or Corporation.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, and a working knowledge of one additional Bank language (Spanish, French, or Portuguese) is considered a plus.
