Job Overview:
The HR Consultant position at UN Women is a home-based consultancy role that focuses on providing surge and capacity building support on HR operations for both the Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific (ROAP) and field offices in the region. The consultant will work under the supervision of the Regional HR Business Partner and coordinate day-to-day activities with the HR Specialist. The primary functions of this role include advising senior management and HR colleagues on overall HR management, providing surge support to requesting offices, facilitating recruitment processes, managing benefits and entitlements, and offering capacity building to HR staff within the Asia-Pacific region. The consultant will also be responsible for reviewing HR planning and performing other functions as assigned. This role is crucial in ensuring that UN Women remains agile and aligned with its strategic priorities while effectively managing HR operations across the region.

Required Qualifications:
The position requires several qualifications, including: - A Master's degree or equivalent in human resources management, organizational development, business administration, public administration, change management, or a related field. - Alternatively, a first-level university degree combined with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced degree. - At least five years of progressively responsible experience in human resource management, with a strong focus on recruitment and selection, benefits administration, and HR business partnering. - Experience working within the UN system is essential, along with regional and country-level experience in Asia and the Pacific.
Educational Background:
Candidates must possess a Master's degree or equivalent in a relevant field such as human resources management, organizational development, business administration, public administration, or change management. A first-level university degree may be accepted if accompanied by two additional years of qualifying experience, demonstrating the candidate's capability in the field.
Experience:
The role requires a minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in human resource management. Candidates should have substantial experience in recruitment and selection processes, benefits administration, and HR business partnering. Additionally, experience working within the UN system is a prerequisite, along with regional and country-level experience in the Asia-Pacific region, which is crucial for understanding the specific challenges and dynamics of the area.
Languages:
Fluency in English and Thai is mandatory for this position. Knowledge of any other UN official language is considered an asset, enhancing the candidate's ability to communicate effectively in a diverse environment.
Additional Notes:
This consultancy is home-based, with the possibility of travel as required by the assignment. All travel arrangements will be managed by UN Women in accordance with their Travel Policy. The consultancy will be rendered on an 'on call' basis, with a maximum of 400 working days during the assignment period. It is important to note that UN Women does not guarantee that the maximum contract amount will be utilized during the term of the agreement. - Delivering capacity building initiatives to HR staff within the Asia-Pacific region to enhance their skills and knowledge.
- Performing additional functions as assigned and agreed upon with the supervisor, ensuring flexibility and responsiveness to the needs of the organization.
