Job Overview: The Analyst position at EBRD is a critical role that contributes to all phases of the project cycle, including project origination, structuring, execution, implementation, and monitoring. The Analyst will work closely with a project team, providing support in research, data gathering, credit analysis, and financial modeling, all aimed at achieving the Bank's operational objectives and strategic priorities.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Analyst's duties include working as a project team member on transactions, contributing to project structuring and execution, conducting comprehensive research and analysis of market information and financial performance data, and evaluating potential risks associated with proposed projects. The Analyst will assist in designing technical cooperation assistance, prepare internal documentation, and communicate with stakeholders. Additionally, the Analyst will undertake tasks related to project implementation and monitoring, ensuring compliance with project agreements and Bank procedures. Responsibilities also include preparing monitoring reports, assisting in business development efforts, and progressively taking on more complex tasks as experience is gained.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree, with a Master's degree preferred or equivalent experience in relevant fields. Professional qualifications such as ACA, CFA, ACCA, or CIMA are desirable. Strong quantitative and numerical skills are essential, along with the ability to interpret financial information and design financial models. Credit analysis skills are necessary, as well as proficiency in Microsoft Office and financial analysis software. The ability to work effectively in a team and meet deadlines under pressure is crucial, along with excellent written and oral communication skills in English and the local language.
Educational Background: The position requires a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, with a Master's degree being preferred. Candidates with equivalent experience in finance, economics, or related disciplines will also be considered. Professional qualifications such as ACA, CFA, ACCA, or CIMA are advantageous and demonstrate a commitment to the financial industry.
Experience: The ideal candidate should have relevant financial industry experience, preferably from an investment or commercial bank, private equity firm, asset management firm, or auditing/financial consulting firm that operates to international standards. Practical experience in participating in debt and equity transactions is essential, and exposure to the Natural Resources sector or other corporate sectors in Kazakhstan or the wider Central Asia and Mongolia region is considered an advantage.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory, with excellent written and oral communication skills. Proficiency in the local language is also required, enabling effective communication with local stakeholders and clients. Additional language skills may be beneficial but are not mandatory.
Additional Notes: This position is a short-term contract lasting 12 months. The role is based in Almaty, Kazakhstan, and involves working on projects across Kazakhstan and the wider Central Asia and Mongolia region.
