Job Overview: The Finance Associate position at UNFPA Kenya Country Office is crucial for delivering high-quality financial services to both internal and external clients. Specific duties include examining and analyzing quarterly expenditures, providing capacity building to staff on financial policy application, reviewing Implementing Partner (IP) FACE submissions for compliance, reconciling IP reports with Country Office financial records, and tracking submission deadlines. The Finance Associate will also participate in financial monitoring and training of IPs, process travel requests, liaise with UNDP on finance-related matters, and maintain a proper filing system for finance documents. Additionally, the role involves reviewing accounting transactions for compliance, monitoring financial information integrity, managing petty cash and staff advances, preparing financial reports, and performing year-end accounts closure activities.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. Additionally, seven years of relevant experience in finance, accounting, or business administration is required. Proficiency in computer usage and office software packages, particularly advanced knowledge of spreadsheet and database applications, is essential. Experience with international organizations, especially UN agencies, is considered an advantage.
