Job Overview:
The position of Storytelling, Writing and Content Development Support is designed to assist the Communications team at UN Women Palestine in promoting gender equality through effective storytelling and content creation. The volunteer will engage in developing human-interest stories and written content that reflect the experiences and leadership of Palestinian women and girls. This role involves conducting virtual interviews with beneficiaries and partners in both Gaza and the West Bank, which will serve as the foundation for creating compelling narratives that highlight the impact of UN Women-supported programs. The volunteer will be responsible for drafting and editing communications materials in both Arabic and English, ensuring that the stories resonate with diverse audiences. The position requires a creative approach to transforming interviews and program information into engaging content suitable for UN Women’s website and social media platforms, thereby enhancing the visibility of gender equality issues in the region.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The volunteer will conduct virtual interviews with beneficiaries and partners in Gaza and the West Bank, utilizing both Arabic and English as needed. They will support the development of human-interest stories and profiles, drafting and editing communications materials to ensure clarity and engagement. The role includes identifying strong story angles, key messages, and impactful quotes from interviews and program information. The volunteer will be tasked with turning these interviews and information into engaging web and social media content, adapting stories into various formats such as website articles, social media posts, captions, quote cards, and short video scripts. Additionally, the volunteer will assist in copywriting, editing, and proofreading communications materials, contributing to broader communications and advocacy campaigns aimed at promoting gender equality.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates should possess strong writing and editing skills in both Arabic and English, with a keen ability to craft compelling narratives. Familiarity with gender equality issues and the Palestinian context is essential.
