Job Overview:
The Grant Manager will be a key member of the coordination-team" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">coordination team, reporting directly to the director" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Country Director. This role is crucial for ensuring accountability to donors and involves monitoring and identifying funding opportunities that align with both the country and global strategies of SI. The Grant Manager will oversee the compilation of timely and high-quality proposals and reports, ensuring compliance with donor procedures throughout the grant cycle. Additionally, the role includes building the capacity of staff on internal accountability tools and donor procedures, proactively following up on donor contractual obligations, and centralizing relevant documentation for external audits. The position requires a high level of autonomy and a strong understanding of SI processes, especially in a context where many team members are newly recruited or externally sourced. The Grant Manager will also need to navigate a challenging donor environment and develop donor opportunities that are suitable for the Latin American context, while providing strategic support for fundraising efforts.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Grant Manager's responsibilities include:

• Monitoring and identifying funding opportunities that align with SI's country and global strategies.
• Overseeing the compilation of timely and high-quality proposals and reports for donors.
• Ensuring compliance with donor procedures throughout the grant cycle.
• Building the capacity of staff on internal accountability tools and donor procedures.
• Proactively following up on donor contractual obligations and ensuring that these obligations are understood by relevant departments.
• Centralizing relevant documentation for external audits and maintaining an organized archive of audit reports.
• Engaging with donors and partners to update them on proposals and project implementations.
• Coordinating with HQ focal points to manage upcoming audits.
• Communicating with partners during proposal development and implementation phases. 1
• Adhering to security protocols while traveling to remote or specific areas in Venezuela.

Required Qualifications:
The ideal candidate should possess a graduate degree and/or post-graduate degree in project management, international development, social sciences, humanitarian studies, or a related field. Alternatively, equivalent professional experience in grants management within the humanitarian sector is acceptable. The candidate should have 3-4 years of experience in the humanitarian sector and 0-2 years of experience in similar positions. Specific skills required include proposal and report writing, knowledge of humanitarian donors and their requirements, and training capabilities. Transversal skills such as strong communication, analytical skills, proactivity, autonomy, and a solution-oriented mindset are also essential.

Educational Background:
Candidates must have a graduate degree and/or post-graduate degree in relevant fields such as project management, international development, social sciences, humanitarian studies, or a related area. Equivalent professional experience in grants management within the humanitarian sector may also be considered sufficient.

Experience:
The position requires 3-4 years of experience in the humanitarian sector, with 0-2 years of experience in similar roles. This experience should ideally include working with humanitarian donors and managing grants effectively.

Languages:
Fluency in English and Spanish is mandatory for this position. Proficiency in additional languages may be considered an asset but is not required.

• The role is based in Caracas, Venezuela. The salary is competitive, starting from EUR 2310 gross per month, which includes a base salary and an annual leave allowance. Additionally, a monthly Per Diem of USD 750 is provided, along with coverage for accommodation costs and travel expenses. The organization implements a system of breaks, allowing for 7 working days off every three months, with an additional rest day for each month worked. Expatriates benefit from a comprehensive insurance package covering healthcare expenses, including medical, surgical, dental, and repatriation costs. Living conditions include shared guest house accommodation, internet access, and various leisure opportunities.
