Job Overview:
The Programme and Policy Officer (Information Management) will play a crucial role in supporting the World Food Programme's efforts in the Pacific Island Countries and Territories (PICTs), which are among the most disaster-prone regions globally. The officer will be responsible for developing and maintaining information management systems that consolidate data from various program portfolios, ensuring effective decision-making and program implementation. The role involves facilitating program reporting and data analysis, providing dedicated support to regional coordination mechanisms such as the Regional Pacific Food Security Cluster (rPFSC) and the Pacific Regional Cash Working Group (PRCWG). The officer will also contribute to the development of analytical products and support emergency preparedness and response activities, making this position vital for the success of WFP's mission in the region.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Programme and Policy Officer (Information Management) will have a range of responsibilities, including serving as the Information Management focal point for the rPFSC and PRCWG, maintaining and enhancing information management systems and products, and collecting, analyzing, and disseminating data in accordance with WFP standards. The officer will develop dashboards, infographics, and reports to support the information needs of the Programme Unit and regional coordination efforts. Additionally, the officer will support emergency preparedness activities by developing assessment databases and response monitoring tools. The role also includes providing technical support and capacity strengthening to program staff and partners on information management practices, contributing to cross-functional initiatives, and performing other related duties as required to support program implementation and regional coordination activities.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess strong information management, data analysis, and reporting skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. The ability to manage, analyze, visualize, and communicate information clearly is essential. Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with the ability to build effective working relationships with government counterparts, UN agencies, and NGOs, are also required. Experience in managing databases and information systems, as well as familiarity with digital data collection platforms, is highly desirable. Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to WFP's values and mission, with a focus on integrity, collaboration, and inclusion.

Educational Background:
A university degree in Information Management, Statistics, Economics, Information Systems, Monitoring and Evaluation, Geography, GIS, Computer Science, Social Sciences, Data Science, or a related field is desirable. Completion of secondary school education is required, but higher education in relevant fields will be considered an advantage.

Experience:
Candidates should have at least seven years of progressively responsible experience in information management, program support, monitoring and evaluation, or related fields. Experience in managing databases and information systems, as well as analyzing and visualizing data, is essential. Familiarity with program monitoring, performance reporting, and results tracking is also required. Desirable experience includes working with UN agencies, NGOs, or government institutions, and supporting coordination mechanisms such as Food Security Clusters or Cash Working Groups.

Languages:
Fluency in English, both oral and written, is mandatory for this position. Candidates should possess strong communication skills to effectively convey information and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.

The position is a Service Contract at Level 7, with a duration of 8 months and a possible extension up to 11 months. The duty station is in Suva, Fiji.
