Job Overview:
As a Principal Technician (ICT Systems) based in Brunssum, Netherlands, you will play a crucial role in transforming NATO's IT services to support its Digital Endeavour. You will be part of the Central Support Services Centre (CSSC), which is responsible for the repair and maintenance of Information Communications Technology (ICT) systems, as well as ICT Hardware Asset Management services. Your work will directly support NATO operations, exercises, and training. The CSSC acts as the central hub for ICT hardware within NATO, overseeing stock management, procurement, delivery, and lifecycle management of all ICT hardware items. This position requires a proactive and enthusiastic individual who is ready to contribute to the mission of NATO through effective ICT system management and support.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Principal Technician (ICT Systems) will be responsible for a variety of tasks including software configuration, system software management, network support, and systems installation and removal. You will be expected to configure network hardware, manage routing protocols, and troubleshoot network issues using complex test equipment. Additionally, you will lead and supervise a technical team, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively. Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess higher vocational training in a relevant discipline such as Telecommunications, Electronics, Electrical, or Network Engineering, along with a minimum of 3 years of post-related experience. Alternatively, a secondary educational qualification with at least 5 years of relevant experience within the last 10 years is acceptable. Proven experience in configuring network hardware and managing routing protocols is essential, as is the ability to work independently to resolve technical issues. Experience in leading and motivating a technical team is also required, along with a deep understanding of communication protocols and network troubleshooting techniques.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes higher vocational training in fields related to ICT systems, such as Telecommunications, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or Network Engineering. This training should be complemented by practical experience in the field, ensuring that candidates are well-equipped to handle the technical demands of the role.

Experience:
Candidates should have a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in ICT systems management, particularly in configuring network hardware and troubleshooting network issues. Those with a secondary educational qualification should have at least 5 years of experience within the last decade. Additionally, at least 2 years of experience in a leadership role, supervising a technical team, is necessary to ensure effective team management and project execution.

Languages:
Fluency in English, both written and spoken, is mandatory for this position. This proficiency is essential for effective communication within the NATO environment, where English is the primary working language. While not mandatory, knowledge of additional languages may be considered an asset.
