Job Overview:
The Sustainable Finance Programme Communications and Content Development Consultant will play a crucial role in enhancing the communication strategies of UN Women’s Sustainable Finance Programme. This position is designed to support the development of high-quality communications products that effectively convey the objectives, value proposition, results, and impact of the Sustainable Finance Programme. The consultant will be responsible for translating complex concepts related to gender equality, finance, investment, and policy into clear and compelling materials tailored for diverse audiences. This role requires a deep understanding of the private and financial sectors, emerging trends in sustainable finance, and innovative stakeholder engagement approaches. The consultant will work closely with the Sustainable Finance team to ensure that communications align with the strategic objectives of the programme and effectively support stakeholder engagement and thought leadership.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The consultant will be tasked with a variety of responsibilities aimed at enhancing the communication and content development for the Sustainable Finance Programme. Key duties include:
Required Qualifications:
The position requires a Master's degree in a relevant field, or a first-level university degree combined with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of an advanced degree. Candidates must have a minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in strategic communication, including content and media product development, editing, marketing, branding, and knowledge management. Demonstrated experience in designing and implementing communication strategies and plans is essential, along with a proven ability to produce high-impact graphic and audiovisual materials. Experience engaging with private sector organizations, financial institutions, and development finance institutions is highly desirable.
Educational Background:
Candidates must possess a Master's degree in a relevant field. Alternatively, a first-level university degree combined with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of an advanced degree. This educational background is essential for understanding the complexities of sustainable finance and gender-responsive policies.
Experience:
The consultant should have a minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in strategic communication, which encompasses content and media product development, editing, marketing, branding, and knowledge management. Experience in managing multifaceted communications projects and engaging with private sector organizations and financial institutions is highly desirable, as it will enhance the consultant's ability to effectively communicate complex sustainable finance concepts to diverse audiences.
Languages:
Fluency in English is required for this position. Knowledge of any other UN official language is considered an asset, as it may facilitate communication with a broader range of stakeholders and enhance the consultant's effectiveness in a global context.

- Creating programme narratives, key messages, and audience-specific communication approaches.
- Producing high-quality written, visual, and multimedia content, including briefs, presentations, reports, infographics, and digital content.
- Supporting Regional and Country Offices in communicating sustainable finance opportunities and results effectively.
- Advising on communications strategies for high-level engagements and identifying innovative approaches to enhance the Programme's visibility and influence.
- Capturing country and regional experiences through storytelling and developing templates and guidance materials for effective communication.
