Job Overview:
The Accounting and Contracts Jr. Officer will play a crucial role in managing and providing administrative and financial assistance related to the GEF project. Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Accounting and Contracts Jr. Officer include managing the entire contracting process in the Smart Simple system, which involves preparing consultancy contracts, TSAs, and civil service contracts. The officer will monitor compliance with deadlines related to the submission of technical and financial reports from consultancies, TSAs, and civil contracts. Additionally, the officer will record all expenses and obligations in the accounting system related to consultancies, TSAs, and workshops for the GEF project. The officer will prepare financial reports as required by primary donors, ensuring strict compliance with organizational policies and any special provisions required by donors. The officer will also follow up on travel advances and ensure that all expenses are supported by appropriate documentation according to legal and organizational standards. Furthermore, the officer will maintain both physical and digital documentation related to financial and technical reports submitted under consultancy agreements, TSAs, and civil contracts. The role also involves ensuring compliance with all information requirements for internal and external audits and supporting other designated tasks within the area of work and profession.
Required Qualifications:
The required qualifications for this position include a professional degree in Financial Auditing and/or Public Accounting (CPA). Candidates should have at least three years of work experience in similar positions, preferably within non-governmental organizations or international cooperation agencies. Knowledge and experience in facilitating audits of cooperation projects, as well as familiarity with current tax regulations, are essential. Proficiency in office software such as Outlook, Excel, and Word is required, along with excellent teamwork skills. Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is desirable, and candidates should have knowledge in contract management, event management, negotiation with suppliers, and financial report preparation. Availability for occasional national travel is also required.
