Job Overview:
The Programme Support Officer will provide essential support to the programme team, ensuring that activities align with UN Women’s strategic priorities and operational procedures. This role involves assisting the coordination-team" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">coordination team in the Gender Theme Group by facilitating communication and collaboration with donors and other stakeholders. The officer will contribute to donor reporting by compiling and analyzing programme results, financial updates, and impact narratives in accordance with donor requirements and UN Women standards. Additionally, the officer will support monitoring and evaluation processes to ensure accountability and transparency, maintaining accurate documentation of programme activities and outputs. The position requires organizing meetings, workshops, and consultations, as well as developing communication materials to enhance the visibility of programme results.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Programme Support Officer will be responsible for providing technical and administrative support to strengthen programme delivery and stakeholder engagement. Key duties include: assisting the coordination team in the Gender Theme Group, facilitating communication among donors and UN agencies, contributing to donor reporting by compiling and analyzing programme results, supporting monitoring and evaluation processes, maintaining accurate documentation of programme activities, organizing meetings and workshops, and developing communication materials to enhance visibility of programme results. The officer will also ensure effective follow-up and dissemination of outcomes from meetings and consultations, and support the overall coordination of activities within the programme team.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess strong technical and administrative skills to support programme delivery effectively. They should demonstrate excellent communication and collaboration abilities, particularly in engaging with donors and stakeholders. A commitment to gender equality and women's empowerment is essential, along with a proactive approach to problem-solving and adaptability in a dynamic work environment. The ideal candidate should also exhibit strong organizational skills and attention to detail, ensuring that all documentation and reporting are accurate and timely.

Educational Background:
A relevant degree in social sciences, international development, gender studies, or a related field is required. Advanced degrees or specialized training in gender equality and women's empowerment will be considered an asset. Candidates should have a solid understanding of the UN system and its policies related to gender equality.

Experience:
Candidates should have a minimum of 2 years of experience in programme support, project management, or a related field, preferably within the UN system or an international organization. Experience in donor reporting, monitoring and evaluation, and stakeholder engagement is highly desirable. Familiarity with gender equality issues and the Sustainable Development Goals will be an advantage.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, as it is the working language of UN Women in Malawi. Knowledge of Chichewa or other local languages is considered an asset, as it can enhance communication with local stakeholders and communities.

Additional Notes:
The position is based in Lilongwe, the capital of Malawi, which offers reasonable living conditions and access to basic amenities. The UN Volunteer will receive a Volunteer Living Allowance (VLA) to cover housing, utilities, and other basic needs. The assignment includes life, health, and disability insurance, as well as travel allowances for official duties. The UNV Unit will assist with accommodation arrangements and visa processing.
