Job Overview:
The Communications and Engagement Officer at WWF Thailand will play a pivotal role in enhancing the visibility and impact of the organization's conservation initiatives. This position is centered around content development, storytelling, and knowledge translation, ensuring that the conservation work of WWF Thailand is communicated effectively to the public. The officer will collaborate closely with various program teams to produce high-quality content for digital platforms, publications, and media outreach. The goal is to inspire public engagement and support for WWF's mission by translating complex conservation information into compelling narratives that resonate with diverse audiences. This role is crucial in fostering partnerships and building a strong brand presence for WWF Thailand, ultimately contributing to the organization's broader objectives of promoting sustainable development and protecting biodiversity.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Communications and Engagement Officer will be responsible for a wide range of duties, including:
  • Content Development and Storytelling: Crafting engaging stories and communication materials that highlight WWF Thailand's conservation efforts, impacts, and partnerships. Translating technical conservation information into accessible content for public audiences. Producing articles, web content, newsletters, and feature stories for various WWF platforms.
  • Digital Content Management: Supporting the management of WWF Thailand's digital platforms, including the website and social media channels. Developing multimedia content such as photo stories, short videos, and infographics. Coordinating with digital teams and external vendors for content production.
  • Programme Communications: Collaborating with conservation teams to identify communication opportunities and field stories. Supporting communication needs for priority projects, fundraising, and campaigns. Documenting project results, milestones, and success stories.
  • Media and Outreach Support: Assisting in the preparation of press materials, communication briefs, and media content. Supporting engagement with media, influencers, and partners as needed.
  • Internal Communication Support: Contributing to organizational publications such as newsletters, reports, and internal communications. Facilitating knowledge sharing across WWF Thailand teams.
  • Other Duties: Monitoring conservation trends and relevant environmental topics. Providing communications support to other departments as assigned by the Head of Communications.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Environmental Studies, or related fields. A minimum of 2–3 years of professional experience in communications, media, content development, or storytelling is required. Strong writing and editing skills in both Thai and English are essential. Experience in producing digital content, including articles, social media posts, and multimedia storytelling, is necessary. The ability to translate technical information into engaging public communication is crucial. An interest or experience in environmental or conservation topics is considered an advantage. Strong coordination and teamwork skills are also required to effectively collaborate with various stakeholders.

Educational Background:
The ideal candidate should have a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Environmental Studies, or a related discipline. This educational background will provide the necessary foundation for understanding the complexities of communication in the context of conservation and environmental issues.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 2–3 years of professional experience in communications, media, content development, or storytelling. This experience should demonstrate the candidate's ability to produce high-quality content and engage effectively with diverse audiences, particularly in the context of environmental or conservation-related topics.

Languages:
Fluency in both Thai and English is mandatory for this position, as strong writing and editing skills in both languages are essential for effective communication. Additional language skills may be considered an advantage, particularly if they relate to the communities and stakeholders WWF engages with.
