Job Overview:
The IT Platform Architect position is a critical role within the Directorate Maastricht Upper Area Control Centre, specifically in the Engineering Division. The selected candidate will be responsible for providing technical expertise and guidance on IT platform architecture activities related to safety-critical Air Traffic Management (ATM) systems. This includes supporting the development and coordination of architecture roadmaps that align with the organization's strategic vision and technology transformation plans. The role requires collaboration with internal partners and external providers to make informed architecture decisions, define project goals, and ensure the technical soundness of solutions. The architect will work with cross-functional teams to implement architectural changes and design, build, and deploy solutions that meet enterprise standards and organizational needs. Additionally, the role involves analyzing technical requirements and constraints, ensuring adherence to architecture standards and security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security practices, and maintaining technical documentation. Staying updated on technological developments and sharing knowledge within the organization is also a key expectation of this position.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the IT Platform Architect include:

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must have completed relevant third-level studies in fields such as Engineering or Computer Science, meeting the European Qualifications Framework (EQF) Level 6, followed by at least 4 years of relevant professional experience. Alternatively, candidates with EQF Level 7 qualifications must have at least 3 years of relevant professional experience. Internal candidates can refer to the intranet for equivalency of in-house experience. Additionally, candidates should have experience in system architecture or a related role, particularly focusing on the IT platform layer. Familiarity with designing complex systems that require high reliability and stringent governance processes is essential. Knowledge of modern platform technologies, frameworks, and architectural principles is also required, along with technical drafting skills in English.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for the IT Platform Architect position includes a completed degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field that meets the European Qualifications Framework (EQF) Level 6 or Level

Candidates should also have a background in designing complex systems that necessitate high reliability and adherence to governance processes.

Languages:
Proficiency in English at level C1 is mandatory for this position, as it is one of the working languages of the Agency. Candidates should possess strong communication skills in English, particularly in technical drafting. Knowledge of French is also beneficial but not mandatory.

Additional Notes:
The position is classified as an Administrator role at job levels AD6-AD9, with a duration of 5 years, subject to renewal or conversion under specific conditions. The selected candidate must reside in Maastricht or a reasonable proximity to fulfill their duties satisfactorily. The working arrangement is hybrid, allowing for a combination of onsite presence and remote work opportunities, although full-time remote work is not permitted. Candidates must complete a probationary period of nine months before being established in the post. The selected candidate will be appointed in accordance with the General conditions of employment governing servants at the EUROCONTROL Maastricht Centre.
