Job Overview:
The Media Advisor position at Save the Children Australia is a full-time, permanent role within the Media team. The primary focus of this role is to advance children's rights through strategic media engagement, compelling campaigns, and impactful storytelling. The Media Advisor will be responsible for developing and executing media strategies that raise awareness, influence policy, and promote the organization's mission. This role requires a deep understanding of the Australian media landscape and a passion for advocacy, as the Media Advisor will work to secure high-profile media coverage and build strong relationships with journalists and media stakeholders. The successful candidate will also support spokespersons with media coaching and interview preparation, ensuring that the organization's messaging is clear and effective. The Media Advisor will champion child safeguarding and ethical engagement in all communications activities, making this role crucial for the organization's advocacy efforts.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Media Advisor will have a comprehensive set of duties and responsibilities, including but not limited to: developing and implementing media strategies and campaigns that align with the organization's goals; creating compelling content for various media channels; securing media coverage across traditional and digital platforms; building and maintaining relationships with journalists and media outlets; providing media coaching and support to spokespersons; ensuring that all communications adhere to child safeguarding principles; monitoring media coverage and analyzing the impact of media campaigns; collaborating with internal teams to align messaging and strategies; and participating in advocacy efforts to promote children's rights and welfare.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates for the Media Advisor position must possess exceptional storytelling and communication skills, with the ability to distill complex issues into engaging content. Proven experience in media relations, story pitching, and securing coverage across various media channels is essential. A strong understanding of the Australian media landscape and a commitment to children's rights and advocacy are critical. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate creativity, resilience, and adaptability, with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. A collaborative and values-driven approach is also necessary for success in this role.

Educational Background:
The ideal candidate for the Media Advisor position should have a relevant degree in communications, media studies, public relations, or a related field. Experience:
