Job Overview:
The Monitoring Assistant position at WFP is crucial for ensuring the effective implementation of various monitoring procedures and activities. The role involves working under the direct supervision of the sub-office chief and the technical supervision of the RAM unit. The Monitoring Assistant is responsible for coordinating and overseeing activities in the designated intervention area, producing reports that aid in providing effective support. This position requires the interpretation of standard guidelines and practices, as well as the ability to recommend actions to colleagues at various levels. The Monitoring Assistant will engage in field missions, collect data, and analyze the implementation of projects and programs, ensuring that the assistance provided meets the standards set by WFP. The role is integral to the success of WFP's mission to alleviate hunger and improve food security in vulnerable communities.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Monitoring Assistant include: coordinating and planning field missions in collaboration with the sub-office chief and RAM unit; ensuring comprehensive coverage of all activity sites within the intervention area; systematically sharing site visit reports with the RAM unit; reporting urgent incidents and recommendations following field missions; entering field reports into the designated platform; actively participating in the CFM mechanism established by RAM; proposing strategies for improving partner activities based on monitoring and situational assessments; guiding beneficiaries in enhancing their production and accessing markets; overseeing the identification and selection of schools, organizations, youth, and women involved in school feeding and resilience programs; facilitating the selection of viable pathways for youth and women in the intervention area; supporting women's associations in horticulture to improve production and market access; assisting beneficiaries in participating in value chain activities; producing monthly reports on activity monitoring and indicator progress; supporting partners in developing technical and financial project proposals; analyzing partners' technical and financial proposals; reviewing partners' reports and providing necessary support for school feeding, nutrition, and resilience activities; monitoring partner payments in collaboration with country office units; advising partners on measures to ensure the protection and dignity of beneficiaries during assistance; overseeing community work, participant targeting, and food distribution or cash transfers; ensuring that the quantity and quality of assistance provided meet WFP standards; collecting data on project/program implementation, cross-cutting indicators, and preparing reports to guide decision-making; ensuring timely submission of partner reports and accurate recording of collected information; entering partner distribution reports into WFP's corporate platform (COMET) after analysis/approval; providing reports on the distribution of WFP assistance to guide decision-making on corrective measures and project design/revision; sharing operational information on successes and challenges encountered during project implementation to provide strategic guidance to operational sections; collaborating with cooperating partners to raise community awareness on protection and gender issues and women's access to WFP activities; identifying and compiling key observations during monitoring and sharing actions taken with the sub-office chief; participating in local coordination mechanisms related to integrated resilience, nutrition, and school feeding operations; supporting the organization of reviews and evaluations conducted by WFP in the coverage area; facilitating baseline and PDM surveys in the coverage area; and performing other related tasks as needed.

Required Qualifications:
The required qualifications for the Monitoring Assistant position include a completed secondary education complemented by a post-secondary certificate/diploma in fields such as economics, agronomy, social sciences, statistics, nutrition, or related areas. Candidates should possess at least five years of experience with knowledge in school feeding, nutrition, and resilience activities. Ideally, candidates will have experience in agronomy/rural engineering, nutrition, program result collection, quantitative and qualitative analysis, and communication of findings to management, partners, and stakeholders. Experience in implementing and monitoring rural development activities is also preferred. Proficiency in French, both spoken and written, is mandatory, while knowledge of English and local languages is considered an asset. Candidates should demonstrate strong computer skills, including proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Internet usage. The ability to work independently and as part of a team, as well as effectively engage with individuals from diverse nationalities and cultures, is essential. Candidates must also possess the capacity to interpret and analyze program-related issues and communicate complex matters both orally and in writing.

Educational Background:

Experience:

Experience in implementing and monitoring rural development activities is also highly desirable.

Languages:
