Job Overview:
The Finance and Administrative Assistant position is crucial for the EpiC Cameroon project, which aims to provide strategic technical assistance and direct service delivery to achieve HIV epidemic control among at-risk populations. The role involves reporting to the Finance Officer and coordinating closely with the Zonal Clinical Advisor. The assistant will handle accounting, financial, and administrative duties, ensuring compliance with internal and external regulations. This includes preparing documents and reports, managing financial transactions, and maintaining accurate records. The assistant will also play a key role in supporting the finance team in tracking expenditures and preparing invoices, thereby contributing to the overall success of the project.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Finance and Administrative Assistant will be responsible for establishing and managing accounting record-keeping systems, tracking project expenditures, and ensuring all financial transactions are documented accurately. Duties include verifying advance requests and travel expense reports, supporting the finance officer in preparing invoices, and resolving issues related to monthly expenditures. The assistant will also manage incoming and outgoing mail, schedule meetings, prepare materials for conferences, and maintain documentation and databases. Additional responsibilities include performing data entry, organizing files, and assisting with other administrative tasks as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess an Associate’s degree or its international equivalent, along with a minimum of three years of experience in accounting, finance, and administrative support. A strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), budgeting, and fiscal control is essential. The candidate should demonstrate excellent quantitative and analytical skills, proficiency in spreadsheet and database software, and the ability to handle complex information with discretion. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are also required, along with the ability to work collaboratively and prioritize tasks effectively.

Educational Background:
An Associate’s degree or its equivalent is required for this position. Candidates with higher educational qualifications in finance, accounting, or a related field may be preferred, as they would bring additional knowledge and skills relevant to the role.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of three years of relevant experience in accounting, finance, and administrative support. Candidates should have a proven track record of managing financial transactions, preparing reports, and maintaining accurate records in a professional setting. Experience working with U.S. government funding sources is a plus, as it will enhance the candidate's ability to navigate compliance and regulatory requirements effectively.

Languages:
Fluency in both spoken and written English and French is mandatory for this position. This bilingual requirement is essential for effective communication within the team and with external stakeholders, particularly in a diverse working environment like Cameroon.

Additional Notes:
The expected hiring salary range for this role is XAF 7,000,000 - 9,000,000 for annual gross salary for national local hire.
