Job Overview:
The Driver position within the UNHCR Office is crucial for the effective transportation of authorized personnel and the delivery of essential documents and items. The incumbent will be directly supervised by the Administrative Officer or another designated staff member, ensuring that all driving activities adhere to the organization's technical guidance and security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security protocols. The primary responsibility of the Driver is to operate UNHCR vehicles safely and efficiently, while also maintaining the vehicles in optimal condition. This includes performing routine checks and minor repairs, ensuring that the vehicles meet safety and security standards. The Driver will also engage with various stakeholders, including UNHCR staff, partners, and government authorities, facilitating communication and collaboration. Duties and Responsibilities:
The Driver will be responsible for the following duties:

• Drive UNHCR vehicles for the transport of authorized passengers, ensuring safe and timely travel.
• Deliver and collect documents and other items as required.
• Meet official personnel at airports or other locations, facilitating immigration and customs formalities as necessary.
• Perform daily maintenance checks on assigned vehicles, including oil, water, battery, brakes, and tires, ensuring vehicles are roadworthy and compliant with security standards.
• Conduct minor repairs and arrange for more extensive repairs when needed, while keeping the vehicle clean and well-maintained.
• Log official trips, daily mileage, fuel consumption, and maintenance activities.
• Follow all instructions and security guidance provided by the supervisor and security focal point.
• Ensure valid documentation for passengers, items, or cargo transported in the vehicle.
• Support the identification and management of risks, raising any issues or concerns to the supervisor or relevant colleagues. 1
• Perform other related duties as required by the supervisor.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a valid driving license and have a solid understanding of driving rules and regulations. Essential qualifications include a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in a driving role, with a completion of primary education or a high school diploma. Knowledge of basic vehicle mechanical skills is also required. The ability to follow instructions and adhere to safety protocols is critical for this position. Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes the completion of primary education or a high school diploma. While specific field education is not applicable, candidates must possess a valid driving license and demonstrate knowledge of driving rules and regulations. Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 2 years of relevant driving experience. Candidates should have a proven track record of safe driving practices and familiarity with the operational environment of UNHCR or similar organizations. Experience in performing minor vehicle maintenance and repairs is also advantageous, as is the ability to navigate local roads and understand regional driving conditions.

Languages:
For this position, knowledge of English is mandatory, along with proficiency in the UN working language of the duty station, which in this case is French, given the location in Cameroon. Familiarity with local languages may also be beneficial but is not explicitly required.
