Job Overview:
The Project Associate for Protection Information Management will play a crucial role in supporting the implementation of protection-related projects within the IOM framework. This position requires a proactive individual who can manage data related to protection cases, ensuring that information is collected, analyzed, and reported accurately. The Project Associate will work closely with various stakeholders, including government agencies, NGOs, and community organizations, to facilitate effective communication and collaboration. The role also involves providing technical support in the development of protection information management systems, ensuring that they are user-friendly and meet the needs of all users. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the development of training materials and conduct training sessions for staff and partners on the use of these systems.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Manage and maintain protection information management systems, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality.
  • Collect, analyze, and report on protection-related data, providing insights to inform programmatic decisions.
  • Collaborate with project teams to develop and implement data collection tools and methodologies.
  • Provide technical support and training to staff and partners on the use of protection information management systems.
  • Ensure compliance with IOM's data protection policies and procedures.
  • Assist in the preparation of project reports, proposals, and other documentation as required.
  • Participate in meetings and workshops related to protection information management, representing IOM as needed.
  • Support the development of partnerships with relevant stakeholders to enhance protection information management efforts.

Required Qualifications:
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, in English.
  • Proficiency in data management software and tools, such as Excel, SPSS, or similar.
  • Familiarity with protection issues and frameworks in the context of migration.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a multicultural environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Educational Background:
A bachelor's degree in social sciences, international relations, data management, or a related field is required. A master's degree in a relevant discipline would be an advantage.

Experience:
At least 2 years of relevant work experience in protection information management, data analysis, or a related field is required. Experience working with international organizations or NGOs is highly desirable.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory. Knowledge of additional languages, particularly local languages spoken in Ethiopia, is considered an asset.

Additional Notes:
This position is a full-time role based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The contract duration is initially for one year, with the possibility of extension based on performance and funding availability. The position may involve occasional travel within the country to support project implementation.
