Job Overview:
As a Senior Technician (ICT System) based in Brunssum, Netherlands, you will play a crucial role in transforming NATO's IT services to support its Digital Endeavour. You will be part of the Central Support Services Centre (CSSC), which is responsible for the repair and maintenance of Information Communications Technology (ICT) systems, as well as ICT Hardware Asset Management services that support NATO operations, exercises, and training. Your work will involve managing the supply activities related to stock management, procurement, delivery, receipt, and lifecycle management of ICT hardware items. This position requires a proactive and enthusiastic individual who is ready to contribute to the mission of NATO by ensuring that ICT systems are effectively configured and maintained.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Senior Technician (ICT System) will be responsible for a variety of tasks including but not limited to: Software Configuration, System Software management, Network Support, and Systems Installation and Removal. You will also be expected to engage in troubleshooting and resolving issues related to network hardware and software, ensuring that all systems are operational and meet the required standards. Additionally, you will be involved in the management of ICT hardware assets, ensuring that procurement and delivery processes are efficient and effective. Required Qualifications:
To qualify for this position, candidates must possess higher vocational training in a relevant discipline such as Telecommunications, Electronics, Electrical, or Computer Engineering, along with at least 2 years of post-related experience. Alternatively, candidates with a secondary educational qualification and 4 years of post-related experience will also be considered. Experience in configuring network hardware, understanding routing protocols, and familiarity with communication protocols (TCP/IP) are essential. Candidates should also have hands-on experience with hardware installations and third-line maintenance of communication and core network infrastructure systems.

Educational Background:
Candidates are expected to have a higher vocational training in a relevant field such as Telecommunications, Electronics, Electrical, or Computer Engineering. This educational background is crucial for understanding the technical aspects of the role and for effectively managing ICT systems and hardware.

Experience:
The position requires candidates to have a minimum of 2 years of relevant post-qualification experience in the field of ICT systems. This experience should include practical knowledge of configuring network hardware, troubleshooting network issues, and maintaining communication systems. Candidates with additional experience in managing ICT hardware assets will have an advantage.

Languages:
Fluency in English, both written and spoken, is mandatory for this position. This is essential for effective communication within the organization and with international partners. While English is the primary language required, knowledge of additional languages may be considered an asset but is not mandatory.

The position offers a 5-year contract with a competitive tax-free salary, along with household and children’s allowances.
