Job Overview:
The Meeting Management Attendant position is crucial for ensuring the smooth operation of meetings and events organized by ESCWA. The incumbent will be responsible for providing optimal and timely conference services in accordance with the standards set by the Department of General Assembly and Conference Management (DGACM). This role involves working closely with the Chief of the Conference Management Section and assisting in various logistical and administrative tasks to ensure that meetings run efficiently and meet the expectations of both organizers and participants. The position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to delivering high-quality service in a fast-paced environment. The Meeting Management Attendant will also play a key role in supporting substantive offices in fulfilling their mandates effectively during meetings.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Meeting Management Attendant include monitoring meeting requests submitted via gMeets, booking rooms and services, assisting with cost estimates, entering data related to interpreters, preparing lists of participants, organizing official documentation, and distributing materials in the conference room. The attendant will also prepare invitations, escort participants, distribute texts of speeches, manage stationery supplies, assist officials and delegates, coordinate with interpreters and sound technicians, and support the Chair with podium needs. Additional responsibilities include preparing the conference room prior to meetings, setting up nameplates according to seating protocols, and performing general office management functions as required. The attendant will also assist in the management and coordination of the ASMEs 2026 and carry out other tasks as requested by senior staff.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a High School diploma or equivalent. A minimum of one year of experience in conference services, meeting services management, or a related area is required. Experience working in the United Nations or other multinational or international organizations is desirable. Candidates must submit a copy of their educational degree, as incomplete applications will not be reviewed.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a High School diploma or equivalent. Candidates are expected to provide documentation of their educational qualifications as part of the application process.

Experience:
The position requires at least one year of relevant experience in conference services or meeting management. Experience within the United Nations or similar international organizations is considered an asset, as it demonstrates familiarity with the protocols and standards expected in such environments.

Languages:
Fluency in English and Arabic is required for this position, as these are the working languages of ESCWA. Knowledge of French is desirable, as it is one of the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. Fluency is defined as being able to speak, read, write, and understand the language at a high level, while knowledge indicates a confident ability in at least two of the four language skills.
