The Allied Air Command (AIRCOM) is a pivotal component of NATO, established to deliver Air and Space Power for Alliance operations and missions. AIRCOM serves as the Single Service Command (SSC) within the NATO Command Structure (NCS), specifically focusing on the Joint Force Air Component (JFAC). The organization is responsible for establishing effective Command & Control (C2) systems and can operate as a Joint Task Force (JTF) when directed by the Supreme Allied Commander Europe (SACEUR). The Command Group (CG) within AIRCOM provides essential specialist advice, coordination, management, staff support, and administrative services to the Commander (COM), Deputy Commander (DCOM), and Chief of Staff. The Chief of Staff plays a crucial role in assisting the COM AIRCOM in executing his responsibilities, ensuring compliance with published instructions, and acting as the COM/DCOM/COS JFAC when authorized. AIRCOM is dedicated to enhancing NATO's operational capabilities and ensuring effective logistics support for its missions.
Job Overview:
The NATO Staff Officer ARMO Logistics Requirements position is integral to supporting the logistics elements of the AIRCOM Resourcing Management Office (ARMO). The incumbent will provide expert advice, administrative and project support, and stakeholder management for the ARMO Manager concerning all logistics aspects of the ARMO mission. This role encompasses a variety of responsibilities, including functional logistics analysis, stakeholder coordination, project support, records management, and project monitoring. The successful candidate will be involved in the development and coordination of requirements for NATO 2030 initiatives under AIRCOM's ownership. The position requires a proactive approach to managing logistics requirements and ensuring that all actions align with the strategic objectives of NATO 203
Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the NATO Staff Officer ARMO Logistics Requirements include supporting the ARMO Manager in the collection, preparation, and validation of AIRCOM requirements documentation related to logistics. The incumbent will provide subject-matter expert advice and documentary support to the ARMO Manager, AIRCOM leadership, and other NATO bodies regarding ongoing capability delivery processes. Quality assurance of Operational Requirement Statement (ORS) documentation and coordination of pre-initiation support for logistics requirements are also key responsibilities. The officer will manage and coordinate the collection, evaluation, and submission of logistics requirements within AIRCOM and its subordinate entities to ensure business continuity and avoid duplication. Additionally, the role involves maintaining liaison with external entities for coordination on NATO 2030 ARMO logistics projects, supporting the development of policies and supplementary documents, and representing ARMO interests at various meetings and conferences. The incumbent will also be responsible for NATO 2030 ARMO resource planning and coordinating logistics requirements with outside agencies and commands, executing duties that require high-level contacts and negotiation with senior authorities.
Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a University Degree in a relevant discipline such as project management, business administration, management information systems, accounting, public administration, operations research, information systems engineering, or quality engineering. A minimum of 2 years of function-related experience is required. Alternatively, candidates with a Higher Secondary education and successful completion of advanced vocational training leading to a professional qualification/accreditation, along with 4 years of post-related experience, will also be considered. Experience in project management, particularly in developing and implementing business processes, is essential. Candidates should demonstrate the ability to adopt and adapt project management methodologies based on project context, as well as experience in strategic planning and alignment of organizational actions with business objectives. Experience within a logistics management project/team and technical understanding of AIR LOG systems is desired.
Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a University Degree in a relevant field such as project management, business administration, or engineering. Candidates with advanced vocational training leading to a professional qualification may also be considered if they have the requisite experience. The educational qualifications should equip candidates with the necessary skills to manage logistics and project requirements effectively within the NATO framework.
Experience:
Candidates should have a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in logistics management or project management. Experience in managing projects that involve the development and implementation of business processes is crucial. Additionally, experience in strategic planning and the ability to create and maintain strategies that align with organizational objectives is required. Experience within a logistics management project or team is preferred, as is familiarity with AIR LOG development and systems.
Languages:
Proficiency in English is mandatory, with a requirement for NATO Standard Proficiency 3333 in listening, speaking, reading, and writing. The work conducted in this position is primarily in English, both oral and written. Knowledge of additional languages may be beneficial but is not explicitly required.
Additional Notes:
This position is linked to the NATO 2030 agenda and is project-based. The successful candidate will be offered a 3-year definite duration contract as a NATO International Civilian (NIC). Current NIC staff will receive a contract in accordance with NATO Civilian Personnel Regulations. Candidates must complete a NATO medical examination and obtain security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">NATO security clearance before an employment offer is finalized.
