Job Overview:
The position of Coordinadora Operaciones de Emergencia involves overseeing and coordinating emergency operations in Venezuela. The role requires a proactive approach to managing emergency response initiatives, ensuring that the organization’s mission is effectively implemented in crisis situations. The coordinator will be responsible for assessing needs, planning interventions, and mobilizing resources to respond to emergencies. This position demands strong leadership skills, as the coordinator will lead a team of professionals and collaborate with local partners and stakeholders. The role also includes monitoring and evaluating the impact of emergency programs, ensuring that they meet the needs of affected populations and align with ACF’s strategic objectives. The coordinator will be expected to represent ACF in various forums and advocate for the needs of vulnerable communities during emergencies.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Lead and coordinate emergency response operations in Venezuela, ensuring timely and effective implementation of programs.
• Conduct needs assessments to identify the most pressing issues faced by affected populations.
• Develop and implement emergency response plans in collaboration with local teams and partners.
• Mobilize resources and manage logistics to support emergency operations.
• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of emergency programs, making adjustments as necessary to improve outcomes.
• Ensure compliance with ACF’s policies and procedures, as well as donor requirements.
• Provide training and support to team members and local partners to enhance their capacity in emergency response.
• Represent ACF in coordination meetings with government agencies, NGOs, and other stakeholders.
• Prepare reports and documentation related to emergency operations for internal and external stakeholders. 1
• Advocate for the needs of affected populations and promote ACF’s mission and values in all interactions.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess strong leadership and management skills, with a proven ability to coordinate complex operations in challenging environments. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential for effective collaboration with diverse stakeholders. Candidates should have a strong understanding of humanitarian principles and emergency response protocols. Additionally, proficiency in project management and monitoring and evaluation techniques is required. Familiarity with the local context in Venezuela and experience working in emergency settings will be highly advantageous.

Educational Background:
A bachelor’s degree in humanitarian studies, international relations, public health, or a related field is required. A master’s degree in a relevant discipline is preferred. Candidates should have formal training in emergency response and disaster management, as well as knowledge of relevant humanitarian standards and guidelines.

Experience:
A minimum of 5 years of experience in humanitarian work, with at least 3 years in emergency response coordination roles. Experience working in Venezuela or similar contexts is highly desirable. Candidates should demonstrate a track record of successful program implementation and team leadership in emergency settings.

Languages:
Fluency in Spanish is mandatory, as it is the primary language of communication in Venezuela. Proficiency in English is also required, as it is often used in reporting and coordination with international stakeholders. Knowledge of additional languages is considered an asset.

Additional Notes:
This position is full-time and may require travel to various locations within Venezuela. The contract duration is initially for one year, with the possibility of extension based on funding and performance.
