Job Overview:
The director" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Technical Director, MNCH/N position is a critical role within the EpiC Nigeria project, which is part of a global health initiative funded by the United States Department of State. This role involves providing comprehensive management and technical oversight for integrated maternal, newborn, and child health (MNCH) and nutrition service delivery. The Technical Director will work closely with the Project Director to ensure that the design" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">program design and implementation align with global best practices, national guidelines, and donor requirements. The position requires a strong focus on quality implementation, adherence to evidence-based guidelines, and capacity building for government and partner organizations. The Technical Director will also play a key role in identifying opportunities for innovation and improved efficiency in service delivery, ensuring that the project meets its objectives effectively.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Technical Director will be responsible for a wide range of duties, including but not limited to: providing technical oversight for integrated MNCH and Nutrition service delivery; supporting the design and implementation of MNCH and Nutrition activities at both facility and community levels; ensuring technical excellence and consistency with national guidelines; providing technical guidance to state-level teams to strengthen service delivery models and referral systems; contributing to the development of workplans, budgets, MEL frameworks, and donor reporting for MNCH and Nutrition activities; identifying opportunities for innovation and enhanced quality of integrated service delivery; leading the development and adaptation of tools, SOPs, guidelines, and job aids for MNCH/N programming; ensuring integration of evidence-based approaches across the continuum of care; strengthening partnerships with government and other stakeholders; and representing EpiC Nigeria in MNCH/N technical forums and donor engagements. The role may also involve performing other duties as assigned by the Project Director.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Master’s degree or international equivalent in Public Health, Global Health, Health Policy, Medicine, Nursing, social sciences, or a related field. An advanced degree such as a PhD, DrPH, or MD is preferred. Additionally, candidates should have at least 10 years of relevant experience in global health programming, with training in implementation research and health service delivery considered an asset. Demonstrated experience with integrated MNCH and/or Nutrition programming is essential, along with experience working in sub-Saharan Africa and providing technical assistance to government and local partners. Familiarity with community- and facility-based service delivery approaches is also required.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a Master’s degree or its international equivalent in relevant fields such as Public Health, Global Health, Health Policy, Medicine, Nursing, or social sciences. An advanced degree (PhD, DrPH, MD) is preferred, indicating a higher level of expertise and knowledge in the field.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in global health programming, particularly in the areas of maternal, newborn, and child health and nutrition. Candidates should have a proven track record of working in complex stakeholder environments and successfully navigating multicultural and multidisciplinary settings. Experience with U.S. (USAID)- and/or BMGF-funded initiatives is strongly preferred, as is familiarity with integrated MNCH and Nutrition programming.

Languages:
Proficiency in English is mandatory for this position, as it is the primary language of communication within the organization and with stakeholders. Additional language skills may be considered an asset, particularly in local languages relevant to the communities served by the EpiC project.

Additional Notes:
This position is full-time and may require travel up to 50% of the time. The expected hiring salary range for this role is indexed to USD 29,000 - 42,000 for annual gross salary, which includes basic salary and allowances.
