Job Overview: The Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) Airworthiness Expert position involves conducting technical studies and analyses to ensure the safety and compliance of AAM aircraft and systems. The expert will be responsible for evaluating engineering certification standards, reviewing design and manufacturing documentation, and verifying compliance with regulatory requirements. This role is pivotal in supporting the safe integration of AAM technologies into the national aviation system, aligning with GACA's strategic objectives and international aviation standards. The expert will also be tasked with building technical capabilities within GACA, updating existing regulations, developing new regulations for airworthiness certification, and conducting oversight of testing and compliance processes. Duties and Responsibilities:
Conduct technical analyses and studies to ensure the safe integration of AAM technologies into the aviation ecosystem.
Build technical capabilities in Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) within GACA.
Update existing regulations to incorporate AAM relevant systems and technologies.
Develop regulations and procedures, prepare technical recommendations, and obtain the required approvals.
Develop new regulations to enable airworthiness certification issuance.
Define processes to conduct surveillance and oversight of testing and compliance.
Conduct technical studies related to issuing and accepting airworthiness certificates for AAM aircraft and systems.
Review and analyze engineering designs, safety data, and manufacturers’ risk-management solutions.
Coordinate with Original Equipment Manufacturing (OEM) and fleet operators to verify compliance with certification standards. 1
Support and enable tests and flight trials for AAM systems. 1
Perform any additional tasks assigned by direct management related to the nature and scope of the job. 1
Prepare reports on time and with the required quality. 1

Required Qualifications: The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering or an equivalent field. Candidates must have a minimum of 12 years of professional experience in the aviation sector, with a strong emphasis on airworthiness and regulatory compliance. Familiarity with ICAO standards and recommended practices related to AAM or emerging aviation technologies is highly desirable. Candidates should demonstrate a high level of professionalism, judgment, decision-making skills, effective communication, teamwork, technological awareness, and a commitment to continuous learning.
