Job Overview: The position of Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) Air Navigation Services Expert involves conducting comprehensive studies and analyses to facilitate the integration of AAM systems into existing air traffic management (ATM) networks. This role is pivotal in evaluating air routes, separation levels, and communication/navigation/surveillance (CNS) systems, as well as traffic management procedures specifically tailored for AAM aircraft. The expert will be responsible for developing technical frameworks for AAM corridors and routes, ensuring that system requirements are defined to promote safe and coordinated operations. The position requires a deep understanding of aviation systems and the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders to enhance the operational capabilities of AAM within the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA).
Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) Air Navigation Services Expert include: Conducting technical analyses and studies to ensure the safe integration of AAM technologies into the aviation system; Building technical capabilities in AAM within GACA; Developing regulations and procedures, preparing technical recommendations, and obtaining necessary approvals; Assessing ATM needs and procedures for AAM; Developing air-route models for VTOL aircraft in urban and suburban airspace; Analyzing CNS system requirements for future AAM operations; Participating in the development of the Low Level Airspace Concept and initial air traffic framework; Evaluating air-traffic congestion and proposing solutions for integrating AAM flights; Preparing operational regulations for AAM aircraft; Supporting testing related to AAM air corridors and traffic-management solutions; Enabling tests and flight trials for AAM systems; Performing additional tasks assigned by management; Preparing reports on time and with the required quality; Committing to cybersecurity-related tasks and responsibilities.
Required Qualifications: The required qualifications for the position include a Bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering or a related field.
