Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Legal Adviser include:
Participating in working groups to review and draft internal legislation and related amendments.
Providing legal advice to HR Management and stakeholders regarding the application of Staff Rules and Regulations.
Advising on HR policy matters and procedures, including internal disputes and disciplinary proceedings.
Representing CERN in cases before internal dispute resolution and advisory boards.
Conducting legal research and analysis to prepare legal opinions, internal memoranda, and official correspondence.
Ensuring that all legal advice is compliant with international administrative law and CERN's internal regulations.
Collaborating with various departments to ensure a cohesive approach to legal matters.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Master's Degree or equivalent relevant experience in law, international public or administrative law, or a related field. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate a strong understanding of international administrative law, particularly as it pertains to intergovernmental organizations. The ability to draft and write official legal documents is essential, along with knowledge of administrative rules and procedures specific to international organizations. Familiarity with Employment Law or Civil Service Law is considered an asset.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a Master's Degree in law or a related field, with a focus on international public or administrative law.
