Job Overview:
The Monitoring and Evaluation Analyst position is critical for ensuring that the monitoring, evaluation, and reporting of country program activities align with UNFPA’s result-based management principles and guidelines. This role involves supporting national partners in analyzing and utilizing monitoring and evaluation data to facilitate evidence-based decision-making. The Analyst will work closely with the Coordination Specialist and will be responsible for providing quality assurance for monitoring and evaluation processes within the country office. The position requires a proactive approach to strengthen the capacity of staff and implementing partners in program monitoring, evaluation, and reporting, ensuring that all activities are compliant with UNFPA standards and donor requirements. The Analyst will also play a key role in producing evidence-based analyses and reports that inform programming and policy decisions, thereby contributing to the overall effectiveness of UNFPA's interventions in the country.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Monitoring and Evaluation Analyst include:

• Supporting the development of Annual Work Plans that align with UNFPA’s monitoring and evaluation guidelines and donor agreements.
• Providing technical inputs and capacity building for Implementing Partners to enhance their monitoring, reporting, and evaluation systems.
• Coordinating the preparation of quarterly, annual, UNSDCF, and donor program implementation reports.
• Producing evidence-based analyses, briefs, and presentations on results planning, monitoring, and reporting.
• Strengthening results-based management in planning and implementation of UNFPA interventions using data from sector information management systems.
• Collecting and analyzing best practices and lessons learned to demonstrate impact and guide program adjustments.
• Ensuring compliance with result-based management principles and UNFPA guidelines in all monitoring and evaluation activities.
• Providing technical oversight for joint monitoring visits and preparing synthesis reports of findings.
• Leading the review and documentation of program results and sharing insights with relevant partners. 1
• Implementing data visualization strategies to enhance communication of program data. 1
• Supporting the digitalization of knowledge management and capacity strengthening for ICT-based monitoring and evaluation tools. 1
• Assisting national partners in utilizing monitoring and evaluation data for decision-making and program formulation.

Required Qualifications:
The required qualifications for the Monitoring and Evaluation Analyst position include:

• A Master’s degree in statistics, population studies, demography, health economics, public health, or a related field.
• A minimum of three years of relevant experience in monitoring and evaluation or research.
• Proven experience in writing project activity reports and a thorough understanding of the UN system, particularly UNFPA's mandate and operations.
• Excellent skills in computer and information systems, with the ability to organize effectively and work under pressure while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy.

Educational Background:
Candidates must possess a Master’s degree in a relevant field such as statistics, population studies, demography, health economics, public health, or a related discipline. This educational background is essential for understanding the complexities of monitoring and evaluation within the context of UNFPA's mission and objectives.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of three years of relevant experience in monitoring and evaluation or research. Candidates should have a proven track record in project activity reporting and a comprehensive understanding of the UN system, particularly the policies and operations of UNFPA. Experience in capacity building and technical support for implementing partners is also highly desirable.

Languages:
