Job Overview:
The Evaluation Analyst position at the Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency (MIGA), a member of the World Bank Group, is designed for individuals who are dynamic, proactive, meticulous, and team-oriented. The successful candidate will leverage strong analytical skills and experience in monitoring and evaluating development outcomes in complex projects across both public and private sectors. The role involves supporting MIGA’s self-evaluation of projects, enhancing operational effectiveness of evaluation practices, and coordinating with the Independent Evaluation Group (IEG). The Analyst will also be responsible for collecting and organizing results data and performance indicators, contributing to the WBG Corporate Scorecard for FY24–30, and communicating operational results while emphasizing green, resilient, and inclusive development through mobilizing private capital. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to impactful projects that address significant development challenges.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Evaluation Analyst will work with a moderate degree of autonomy under the supervision of the Manager in MIGES and guidance from the Chief Evaluation Officer. Key responsibilities include: supporting MIGA’s self-evaluation program by compiling evidence packages, analyzing data, and drafting analytical sections; applying agreed methodologies and maintaining documentation; contributing to efficiency improvements in evaluation processes; assisting in discussions on IEG evaluation methodologies; supporting monitoring and results reporting initiatives; gathering inputs for WBG/MIGA Corporate Scorecard reporting; coordinating with MIGES Economics on inputs for the IMPACT framework; validating IEG’s evaluative work on MIGA; preparing comparative analyses; tracking IEG evaluation schedules; engaging with IEG teams; identifying lessons from evaluations; drafting knowledge assets; and maintaining improved record systems for evaluation reports.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Economics, Finance, Business, Legal, Data Science, or other relevant disciplines, along with at least 2 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. They should have experience in conducting or operating results measurement/M&E platforms for MDBs/DFIs or the private sector, knowledge of evaluating development impacts of investment projects, familiarity with WBG Scorecard methodology, strong data management and analytical skills, and sound knowledge of private sector business practices. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate results-oriented teamwork, interpersonal skills, and openness to feedback.

Educational Background:
The position requires a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in relevant fields such as Economics, Finance, Business, Legal, or Data Science. This educational background is essential for understanding the complexities of development evaluation and the analytical skills necessary for the role.

Experience:
Candidates should have at least 2 years of relevant experience in monitoring and evaluation, particularly in the context of development projects. Experience in setting up and operating results measurement systems for multilateral development banks or private sector entities is highly desirable. Familiarity with the evaluation of development impacts in both public and private sectors is also important.

Languages:
Fluency in spoken and written English is mandatory, with excellent report writing and communication skills. Additional language skills may be beneficial but are not specified as required.
