Job Overview:
The Investigator role is crucial for managing and conducting investigations into various allegations, including misconduct, fraud, corruption, and violations of United Nations Regulations and Rules. The incumbent will be responsible for planning, organizing, and executing investigations, often requiring travel to remote locations for extended periods. This position demands a high level of professionalism and the ability to work collaboratively with a team of investigators. The Investigator will also be expected to analyze data, identify trends, and provide insights to support decision-making processes. The role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to upholding the values of the United Nations.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Investigator will have a range of responsibilities, including: planning and managing investigations of alleged misconduct and malfeasance; leading and supervising investigative teams; deciding on investigative tools and gathering evidence; preparing testimonies for tribunals; conducting interviews and analyzing facts; drafting investigation reports; collaborating with other investigators and staff; managing financial resources and logistics; collecting and analyzing data to identify trends; and performing other functional duties as required. The role requires a comprehensive understanding of investigative processes and the ability to work under pressure while maintaining a high standard of professionalism.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a strong background in investigation-related work, with a minimum of seven years of progressively responsible experience. This includes supervisory functions and experience in interviewing subjects and witnesses. Familiarity with international investigation activities and experience in a multilateral public institution are essential. Additionally, candidates should have a proven ability to analyze and interpret data to support decision-making processes.

Educational Background:
An advanced university degree (Master's degree or equivalent) in law or a relevant field is required. Alternatively, a first-level university degree combined with two additional years of qualifying work experience may be accepted. Successful completion of degree and non-degree programs in data analytics, business analytics, or data science is considered an advantage.

Experience:
The position requires at least seven years of progressively responsible experience in investigation-related work, including supervisory roles. Experience in interviewing subjects and witnesses is mandatory, as is experience working on international investigation activities. Candidates should also have experience in an international or multilateral public institution. Desirable qualifications include two or more years of experience in data analytics or a related area.

Languages:
English is required for this position, as it is one of the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. French is considered desirable. Candidates should refer to the UN Language Framework for the minimum required proficiency levels in these languages.
