The work will involve a systematic approach to collecting and analyzing relevant documents, contributing to the Observatory's mission of providing comprehensive insights into AI policy development. The intern will also assist in creating content for the DDO website and contribute to the development of analytical products that enhance understanding of AI policies in the region.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The intern will have a range of duties and responsibilities, including: A. Review and Systematization of AI Policy Documents:

• Identify relevant policy documents related to AI in Latin America and the Caribbean.
• Review and summarize the content of selected documents, highlighting objectives, institutional arrangements, and implementation mechanisms.
• Organize the collected information by country to facilitate comparison. B. Comparative Analysis and Thematic Mapping:
• Map policy priorities in AI, including governance, regulation, ethics, and social inclusion.
• Identify emerging trends and gaps in national AI policy development.
• Assist in developing structured categories and analytical inputs for the Observatory. C. Contribution to ODD Content and Analytical Products:
• Prepare analytical inputs and country summaries for publication on the DDO website.
• Support the development of AI-related indicators and knowledge products.
• Review and incorporate existing ECLAC inputs into the analysis. D. Coordination and Documentation:
• Maintain organized documentation of reviewed materials and analytical notes.
• Participate in coordination meetings and provide updates on progress.
• Contribute to the preparation of a final synthesis document summarizing internship findings.

Required Qualifications:
The position requires candidates to meet specific qualifications, including: (a) Enrollment in or completion of the final academic year of a first university degree program (minimum bachelor's degree or equivalent). (b) Enrollment in or completion of a graduate school program (second university degree or equivalent, or higher).

Languages:
Fluency in spoken and written Spanish is required for the internship, as it is the primary language of communication in the region. English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat, and knowledge of an additional official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, Russian) is considered an advantage.
