Job Overview:
The Programme Management & Infrastructure Advisor will play a crucial role in providing strategic leadership and technical oversight for the infrastructure portfolio managed by WAMCO. This position is expected to strengthen the quality and performance of infrastructure projects while ensuring effective risk management and sustainable delivery. The advisor will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies that align with the organization's goals, focusing on enhancing the infrastructure capabilities across West Africa. This role requires a deep understanding of infrastructure management, project delivery processes, and the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders to achieve desired outcomes. The advisor will also be tasked with monitoring project performance and making necessary adjustments to ensure that objectives are met efficiently and effectively.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide strategic leadership in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of infrastructure projects across West Africa.
• Oversee the technical aspects of project delivery, ensuring adherence to quality standards and best practices.
• Develop and implement risk management strategies to mitigate potential challenges in project execution.
• Collaborate with local and regional stakeholders to enhance project outcomes and sustainability.
• Monitor and evaluate project performance, providing recommendations for improvements as necessary.
• Prepare reports and presentations for senior management and stakeholders on project status and outcomes.
• Facilitate training and capacity-building initiatives for local teams involved in infrastructure projects.
• Ensure compliance with organizational policies and procedures in all aspects of project management.

Required Qualifications:

• Proven experience in infrastructure project management, preferably in a senior advisory role.
• Strong understanding of risk management principles and practices in project delivery.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining high-quality standards.
• Proficiency in project management software and tools.

Educational Background:
A Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Project Management, or a related field is required. Additional certifications in project management (such as PMP or PRINCE2) are highly desirable. Continuous professional development in infrastructure management is also preferred.

Experience:
A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in infrastructure project management, with at least 5 years in a senior advisory capacity. Experience working in West Africa or similar contexts is an advantage. Proven track record of successful project delivery and stakeholder engagement is essential.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory. Proficiency in French is highly desirable, given the regional context. Knowledge of local languages spoken in West Africa would be an asset.

Additional Notes:
This position is classified at the senior level (ICS 11) and is offered on an ongoing basis under an Individual Contractor Agreement (ICA) with a regular contract type. The role is full-time and may involve travel within the region as required. Compensation and benefits will be commensurate with experience and organizational standards.
