Duties and Responsibilities: The HR and Administration Officer will be responsible for a wide range of duties, including but not limited to: complying with NRC’s HR policies and procedures; assisting in recruitment processes such as advertisements and organizing interviews; updating staff records and generating monthly HR reports; processing medical claims and facilitating payments; preparing staff contributions to statutory bodies; managing HR archives and supporting administrative issues; overseeing recruitment and talent acquisition processes; designing onboarding programs; conducting HR audits and compliance reviews; coordinating partner onboarding and training; managing payroll administration; overseeing benefits administration; collaborating with Programme teams for workforce planning; assisting in staff training and capacity-building initiatives; providing logistical support for staff welfare programs; managing staff clearance processes; maintaining personnel files; tracking performance management cycles; and providing guidance on labor law requirements and HR policies.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Bachelor's Degree in Human Resource Management or a related field from a recognized institution. Additionally, a Certified Human Resource Professional (CHRP) qualification or a Higher Diploma in Human Resource Management is required. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of five years of progressive experience in Human Resource Management, preferably within an international NGO or humanitarian context. A solid understanding of HR policies, employment legislation, and best practices is essential, along with experience in using Human Resource Management Information Systems (HRMIS). Membership in good standing with the Institute of Human Resource Management (IHRM) in Kenya is also required.
