Job Overview:
The position of Programme Assistant in the Technical Assistance Unit at IBE involves supporting member states, particularly Haiti, in their curriculum reform efforts. The role requires coordination, implementation, monitoring, and reporting on various activities related to curriculum development. The Programme Assistant will work closely with the Technical Assistance Unit to ensure that projects are executed effectively and that all stakeholders are engaged in the process. This position is crucial for enhancing the educational landscape in Haiti and ensuring that the reforms are sustainable and aligned with national goals. The Programme Assistant will also contribute to the development of pedagogical tools and resources that facilitate curriculum reform, ensuring that the educational needs of the population are met.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Programme Assistant will undertake a variety of tasks, including but not limited to: drafting technical and financial proposals, supporting project implementation through the preparation of Terms of Reference, coordinating with consultants, providing quality assurance support, and managing logistical coordination. Additionally, the role involves developing pedagogical tools and technical resources to aid in curriculum reform processes, preparing communication materials related to the Haiti curriculum reform, and monitoring and reporting on project implementation and results. The Programme Assistant will also be responsible for collecting and analyzing data, documenting lessons learned and best practices, and maintaining project documentation and knowledge management resources. Furthermore, the role includes supporting the Director in the organizational and institutional development processes of IBE and undertaking any other tasks required to support the Technical Assistance Unit's mandate.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a university degree at the Master's level or equivalent in fields such as Education, Social Sciences, Political Sciences, Economics, or any related area. Additionally, candidates should have a strong understanding of educational systems and curriculum development processes, as well as experience in project design and implementation. The ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders and a commitment to the principles of equity and quality in education are essential for this role.

Educational Background:
A Master's degree or equivalent in Education, Social Sciences, Political Sciences, Economics, or a related field is required for this position. This educational background ensures that the candidate has the necessary theoretical knowledge and practical skills to contribute effectively to curriculum reform initiatives and educational projects.

Experience:
Candidates should have at least five years of professional experience in the field of education. This experience should include a strong background in project design and implementation, particularly in areas related to curriculum development and educational reform. Familiarity with international educational frameworks and the ability to navigate complex educational environments will be beneficial for this role.

Languages:
Excellent knowledge of written and spoken French and/or English is mandatory for this position. Proficiency in both languages is highly desirable, as the role involves communication with diverse stakeholders and the preparation of various documents and reports. Additional language skills may be considered an asset, particularly if they relate to the regions where IBE operates.
