Job Overview: The Country Operations Technical Project Advisor I will play a crucial role in the Delivering Innovation in Self-Care (DISC) project, which aims to enhance awareness, availability, and access to contraceptive self-care methods. This position involves supporting the design, implementation, and adaptation of the DISC project across various countries, including Nigeria, Uganda, Malawi, Zambia, Mozambique, Ethiopia, DRC, and Kenya. The advisor will be responsible for developing and translating implementation guidance, training and coaching partners, and ensuring quality of care and demand generation approaches are contextualized effectively. The role also includes monitoring performance data and utilizing it to guide implementation adaptations, as well as cultivating partnerships with stakeholders to ensure the sustainability of DISC's impact.
Duties and Responsibilities: The primary responsibilities of the Country Operations Technical Project Advisor I include:
Contributing to the development and implementation of the project's technical activities and strategy, including innovative approaches in quality of care and demand generation (45% of time).
Regularly reporting on program activities, documenting key learnings, and preparing project technical reports for management and donors (20% of time).
Developing and contextualizing project technical guidance, providing technical assistance and training to build the capacity of project staff and stakeholders (25% of time).
Conducting field monitoring of technical activities to assess progress and resource utilization, and providing inputs for budget development and realignment (10% of time).

Engaging in more than 30% international travel as required.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Bachelor's Degree (or international equivalent) in a related field, with a Master's Degree (or international equivalent) preferred. A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience is required, although an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Candidates should demonstrate solid technical knowledge in family planningprogram implementation, with a preference for knowledge in self-administered contraception. The ability to provide technical assistance, build relationships with stakeholders, and work both independently and as part of a team is essential. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, proficiency in Microsoft 365, and familiarity with data analysis programs are also required.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field, with a Master's Degree preferred. Relevant fields may include public health, social sciences, or other related disciplines. Candidates should have a strong foundation in health systems, family planning, and project management.
Experience: The position requires at least 5 years of relevant experience in project management, technical assistance, or related fields. Candidates should have a proven track record of implementing health programs, particularly in family planning and reproductive health. Experience in capacity building and stakeholder engagement is also essential.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory, both spoken and written. Additionally, proficiency in French is required, as the position involves working in French-speaking regions. Knowledge of local languages in the applicable countries is a plus.
Additional Notes: This position is remote eligible, subject to manager approval, and candidates must be legally authorized to live and work in the listed locations.
