Job Overview: CIMMYT is seeking an experienced Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Lead to oversee institutional financial analysis, management reporting, and strategic decision support. The role involves developing forecasts, dashboards, and financial insights while ensuring data integrity across planning systems. The FP&A Lead will drive reporting automation and continuous improvement initiatives, and will also lead and develop a team of analysts who support financial planning across various research and funding portfolios. This position is critical for supporting the CGIAR Science Program and Accelerator Funding Portfolio, as well as other research support areas.
Duties and Responsibilities: The FP&A Lead will be responsible for leading institutional financial performance analysis, management reporting, dashboards, KPIs, and executive decision-support activities. Key responsibilities include developing and maintaining financial analyses, business cases, forecasts, scenario models, and performance insights to support organizational decision-making. The role also involves providing financial analysis and reporting support for institutionally managed initiatives, cross-programmatic projects, strategic investments, and centrally managed funding. The FP&A Lead will serve as the business owner for financial planning and reporting data within D365, Workday Adaptive Planning, and related reporting platforms, ensuring data integrity and governance. Additionally, the position requires leading continuous improvement, reporting modernization, automation, and finance transformation initiatives, as well as managing and developing a team of FP&A Analysts to ensure high-quality analytical support and reporting services across the organization.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Data Analytics, or a related field. A professional qualification such as CPA, ACCA, CMA, CFA, or equivalent is preferred. Furthermore, candidates should have a minimum of 8–10 years of progressive experience in FP&A, management reporting, financial analytics, business intelligence, or decision-support functions. Strong experience in developing executive reporting, dashboards, KPIs, financial models, and analytical frameworks is essential. Experience managing financial reporting environments, ERP systems, and planning platforms, preferably Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Workday Adaptive Planning, is also required. Candidates should demonstrate experience leading process improvement, reporting modernization, automation, and analytical teams, along with strong analytical, communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a Master’s degree in a relevant field such as Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or Data Analytics. A professional qualification in finance or accounting is highly preferred, indicating a higher level of expertise and commitment to the field.
Experience: The position requires a significant level of experience, specifically a minimum of 8–10 years in roles related to financial planning and analysis, management reporting, financial analytics, business intelligence, or decision-support functions. This experience should include a strong track record of developing executive reporting and financial models, as well as managing financial reporting environments and ERP systems.
Languages: A high level of proficiency in English is mandatory, with an advanced level (C1) required for effective communication in this role. While English is the primary language needed, knowledge of additional languages may be considered an asset but is not explicitly required for this position.
