Job Overview:
The Associate Economic Affairs Officer will play a crucial role in analyzing economic and sectoral data related to enterprise development and entrepreneurship. This position requires the collection, evaluation, and interpretation of socio-economic information from various sources. The officer will maintain databases, prepare analytical studies, and assist in organizing expert group meetings and seminars. The role also involves providing support to intergovernmental processes, preparing reports, and contributing to technical cooperation projects aimed at enhancing entrepreneurship. The officer will be expected to work collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders to achieve organizational goals and ensure effective communication of complex economic issues to non-specialists.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties of the Associate Economic Affairs Officer include conducting economic and sectoral analysis by collecting and interpreting data, maintaining databases, and preparing briefing notes and analytical studies. The officer will support intergovernmental processes by preparing inputs for reports, summarizing meetings, and organizing panels and round tables. Additionally, the officer will compile data for technical cooperation project proposals, organize workshops, and monitor the implementation of technical cooperation programs. Other responsibilities include performing administrative tasks and participating in training activities to enhance professional development.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a strong understanding of entrepreneurship development and economic theory. They should demonstrate good drafting abilities and have skills in data analysis and project management. Educational Background:
An advanced university degree (Master's degree or equivalent) in economics, development studies, or a related field is required. Alternatively, a first-level university degree combined with two additional years of qualifying work experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced degree.

Experience:
A minimum of two years of progressively responsible experience in economic research and analysis, policy formulation, or related areas is required. Experience specifically in entrepreneurship and providing technical assistance in enterprise development is highly desirable. Familiarity with the application of artificial intelligence in entrepreneurship will be an added advantage.

Languages:
English is required for this position, with a proficiency level of UN Level III in reading, writing, listening, and speaking. Knowledge of French, Spanish, Arabic, Russian, or Chinese (Mandarin) is desirable, with varying levels of proficiency required for each language.

This is a project-funded temporary position with an initial duration of three months, with the possibility of extension based on performance and funding availability.
