Job Overview: The MSF Access Policy Advisor position is a critical role within the Analysis Department of the MSF Access Team. This includes identifying and addressing issues of transparency and providing strategic advice on incorporating relevant policy issues into thematic and strategic analyses. The advisor will also support the development and implementation of advocacy strategies aimed at improving access to essential medicines and healthcare products for populations in need. The role requires collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and maintaining relationships with regional hubs and advocacy departments to ensure a cohesive approach to access issues.
Duties and Responsibilities: The main responsibilities of the MSF Access Policy Advisor include conducting thorough research and analysis on global policies affecting access to healthcare products, particularly focusing on transparency and innovation. The advisor will review and synthesize global policy literature, providing technical and strategic advice on policy issues relevant to the Access team's work. Additionally, the advisor will support the development of advocacy strategies, collaborating with other advisors and regional hubs to create position papers and talking points. Maintaining an external network of stakeholders and representing MSF at relevant policy forums is also a key responsibility, ensuring that MSF's analysis and perspectives are communicated effectively.
Required Qualifications: Candidates for the MSF Access Policy Advisor position should possess a strong background in public health, international relations, or a related field. They should have a deep understanding of global health policies and the challenges related to access to healthcare products. Excellent analytical and research skills are essential, along with the ability to synthesize complex information and communicate it clearly.
